Usually all in the same episode.     Dogma, Kevin Smith & Partying like it's 1999

    We're covering a film that lots of people have probably seen but not in this high a quality. The 25th anniversary of Dogma is being celebrated with a 4K release of the best (?) Kevin Smith film, now that he's got the rights back. Me and Captain J watch it and talk a little about the impact Kevin Smith has had on out worlds... it's not just that one scene, honest. Also as I thought there wouldn't be too much to talk about a film everybody has seen, I knocked up a little quiz about the year 1999 and, snuck in quick quiz of 'Are you an UN-ALIVE?" turns out there was a fair amount to talk about, and even then I don't think we even scratched the surface of what a wonderful film this was and still is Dogma is showing in theatres around the place and probably getting every possible physical release you can think of, with multiple bonus features.     It's spooky season, so I handed the reigns of the show over to Nona, the person who digs through trash dumpsters for horrendous horror films, and challenged them to give me 3 decent ones that may have been overlooked. I do my best co-host impression by adding in things they remind me of, or random films that come to mind. Contributions from the socials also give us some fairly obscure movies you might want to note down and, take a little looky at. If the first time you saw it, it was in 4K, we're gonna sound like dinosaurs but, so is everyone else in this "documentary" about the legendary film Chain Reactions is an exploration of Tobe Hooper’s cult-classic, featuring never-before-seen outtakes and interviews with Patton Oswalt, Takashi Miike, Alexandra Heller-Nicholas, Stephen King and Karyn Kusama.   Directed by Alexandre O. Philippe (Lynch/Oz, The Origins of Alien), the doc had its World premiere at Venice Film Festival last year, before screening at a string of International festivals – including BFI (London), Night Visions (Finland), Sitges (Spain) and MIFF (Australia).   Fifty years after Tobe Hooper's The Texas Chain Saw Massacre shocked the world, this feature-length documentary charts the film's profound impact and lasting influence on five great artists – Patton Oswalt, Takashi Miike, Alexandra Heller-Nicholas, Stephen King and Karyn Kusama.     Gleaming the cube, more like... Skateboarding and getting off with your dead adopted brothers girlfriend while anti communist propaganda makes you wear chinos  ThatFkingGuy and Sunset Skip (Rich) meet up and talk about a movie, but not just any movie, it's Skips all time favourite movie of ALL TIME!. "A young avid skateboarder uncovers a conspiracy while investigating his adoptive brother's mysterious death." The write up on IMDB doesn't let on to much, it totally doesn't mention that it features some totally gnarley grindage from some of the top skaters of the day, some sweet sweeeeeeet stunts, totally rad funeral dress and Frosted tips!!! That's right, instead of spooky stuff were talking documentaries, but this shows entry does feature the scariest monster that ever lived. Thankfully despite still haunting peoples dreams like Freddy she hasn't risen from the dead like Jason or that Myers fella THE IRON LADIES The inspiring story of working-class women who, during the 1984–85 Miners' Strike, found themselves at the forefront of a battle against the British state. From Scotland down to Kent, women from the coalfields shed light on their experiences of the year long struggle, and how they became the backbone of the Strike. With many still active today, their actions reshaped the landscape of political activism for working-class women.   Directed by Daniel Draper (Nature of the Beast), Iron Ladies is a celebration of the iron willed women who maintained the 1984/85 Miners' Strike as they fought for the future of their communities.    Iron Ladies shines a spotlight on the previously overlooked narratives of women, who still fight for their communities today. Heather Wood, Lorraine Stansbie, Rose Hunter, Kate Alvey, Betty Cook, and Aggie Currie are amongst the 20 unsung working-class heroes to share their stories.     Me and J watch a film about a hecking good doggo This game-changing supernatural horror is told from an entirely new perspective, that of man's best friend. Star of the movie, Indy, has already received acclaim for his gripping performance, winning SXSW Film Festival's coveted "Howl of Fame Award".   Directed by Ben Leonberg (The Fisherman's Wife) and produced by Kari Fischer, who are both Indy's real-life humans, Good Boy has already gained a devoted following. The film's cult status continues to soar among both fans and critics, with the film now boasting an impressive 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes*.   Critics have praised the film, with Dread Central saying it is "primed to be one of the most chilling movies of 2025." However, future fans have only been able to angst over Indy's fate. The film's recent trailer launch has caused a 2000% Google spike in searches over the film's ending.    Good Boy follows a loyal dog as he moves to a rural family home with his owner Todd, only to discover supernatural forces lurking in the shadows.
