The Motherhood Network Book Club Ep 4 - Ntando Rambani on Motherhood, Healing & Finding Love

In this Motherhood Network Book Club special, we sit down with Ntando Rambani for an honest and deeply personal conversation about motherhood, healing, identity, love, and the experiences that have shaped the woman she is today.Through the stories explored in her book, Ntando takes us back to her childhood, opening up about complicated love, emotional abuse, growing up with limited support, and the wounds she is still learning to heal from.Together, we unpack self-image and the insecurities she carried growing up, her journey into the entertainment industry, learning to navigate money and independence at a young age, and becoming a mother while her career was still taking shape.Ntando also reflects on how her own upbringing influences the way she raises her children today, the importance of creating opportunities and financial awareness for the next generation, and finding a love that eventually led her to marriage. It is a conversation about looking back without allowing the past to define your future. About healing, growing, loving differently, and intentionally giving your children some of the things you wish you had growing up.This episode reminds us that our stories do not end with what happened to us, we have the opportunity to decide what happens next.🏆 Support us in the Digital Creator Awards nominations!Cast your vote here: https://vote.digitalcreatorawards.com...Special thank you to @Motherkindco HQ for the support in bringing these essential conversations to life. 🌸Don’t forget to subscribe and hit the bell for more powerful conversations about motherhood. Also available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts & everywhere you get your podcasts!Stay ConnectedSubscribe to the Newsletter:https://themotherhoodnetworkza.comGet behind-the-scenes stories, motherhood gems, and exclusive updates in your inbox.Follow us on Social Media:Instagram → / themotherhoodnetworkza TikTok → / themotherhoodnetworkza

Add avocado oil and onion to pan2. Cook the onion until translucent and add the Italian sausage. Season however makes your heart happy3. Boil salted water for rigatoni- once boiled add rigatoni and cook al dente. You want it slightly firmer because it’ll cook in the meat sauce more.4. Once sausage is cooked add in garlic and tomato paste. Get the meat coated in the paste and then add in your grape tomatoes and broth. Cover and let simmer- your goal is to get the tomatoes covered in broth enough to burst them5. Chop your zucchini into quarters and add them to your meat sauce6. Once your tomatoes are soft/bursting you may need to help a few others and press in them with your cooking utensil. Add some more salt and pepper if you so desire7. I like to add about 1/3 cup of pasta water! Drain your pasta and then add it to the meat sauce. Stir a lot to incorporate everything!8. You can top this with any sort of cheese you like!Fruity pebble Rice Krispie treats:Here’s the issue… I eyeball just about everything but here are my tipsUSE SALTED BUTTER- roughly 2 TbsOG FRUITY PEBBLES ONLY CANNOT BE OFF BRANDMini mallows are easier to use than giant ones but get the big bag not the 10ozPut your mini mallows in a large microwave safe bowl with salted butter on top. How Misty Copeland Turned Instability Into Ballet

Misty Copeland grew up sleeping on a motel floor with five siblings, unsure where the next meal was coming from. At 13, she walked into her first ballet class and felt something she'd never felt before: safe. Dr. Becky talks with the first Black woman to become a principal dancer at American Ballet Theatre about the years she was asked to paint her skin to match the rest of the corps, the mentors who taught her to advocate for herself, and what confidence looks like once you stop having to prove it. Plus: how she's raising her own son with the stability she spent her childhood without, and why she still wants him to struggle a little. Misty Copeland has written a new book for middle grade readers called “Firebird Waltz” - the first in a new series called Star Fire Academy. * Thank you to our partners for making this episode possible: Skylight: Get $30 off a 15-inch Skylight Calendar at myskylight.com/beckySmartyPants: Shop SmartyPants Vitamins at Target, Walmart, or Amazon todayFrida: Shop Frida at Amazon, Target, and Walmart todayOso & Me: Use the code OSOGOOD15 for 15% off clothes newborn through age ten Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Angela Duckworth on the Hidden Forces Shaping Your Kid's Behavior

Is your child's behavior really about who they are — or is it about where you've put them?  In this episode, Dr. Aliza Pressman sits down with Dr. Angela Duckworth, bestselling author of Grit, MacArthur "Genius" Grant winner, and University of Pennsylvania psychologist, to unpack her powerful new book, Situated. Together they explore why the "fundamental attribution error" causes so many parents to blame a child's character when the real culprit is the situation around them — and why editing that situation, from where you keep your phone to which zip code you live in, is one of the most effective child development strategies parents actually have. What you’ll learn: Why the "fundamental attribution error" makes parents misjudge their kids' behavior The "3-foot rule": how personal space and phone placement quietly drive academic performance Practical ways to build self-control in kids without relying on willpower alone How intentionally choosing a neighborhood or school shapes peer influence and character The powerful role of mentors, coaches, and teachers as "surrogate parents" Modeling behavior: what your kids are really learning by watching you 🔗 RESOURCES & LINKS: 📖 About This Episode's Guest, Dr. Angela Duckworth:https://www.angeladuckworth.com/about 📚 Dr. Duckworth's Book, Situated:https://www.angeladuckworth.com/situated 📚 Dr. Duckworth's Bestseller, Grit:https://www.angeladuckworth.com/grit Follow Raising Good Humans: 📱 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/raisinggoodhumanspodcast/ 🎙️ Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/raising-good-humans/id1473072044 Subscribe on Substack for weekly articles and exclusive LIVE Q&As: 📧 https://dralizapressman.substack.com/ This episode is brought to you by: Little Spoon: Feeding the kids doesn’t have to be complicated.
