    The Priority Of Knowing Jesus- Rhulani Mkhathswa

    A powerful sermon delivered by guest speaker Rhulani Mkhathswa. Based on Philippians 3, the message sould be the supreme matrix or filter through which we measure every part of our lives. The Trap of Religious Achievement: Rhulani uses the life of the Apostle Paul to illustrate how easy it is for religious rules, heritage, and "spiritual streaks" to replace a real relationship with Christ. He warns that while effort isn't evil, it is a "terrible foundation" for our confidence before God.The "One Matrix": He encourages the congregation to simplify their lives down to one question: "Is this helping me to know Christ more?" This applies to everything from reading the Bible to taking a promotion at work. If an activity or decision pulls you away from knowing Him, it is considered a "loss."Knowing Him in Suffering: A poignant part of the sermon focuses on knowing Christ through shared suffering. Rhulani shares a personal story about the passing of his father, explaining that some dimensions of God’s character can only be experienced and understood through trials and seasons of pain.Moving Forward: The message concludes with an invitation to "forget what is behind" (both past sins and past religious achievements) and "press on" toward the goal of becoming more like Jesus.

    For such as time as this- Gerhard Goosen

    Gerhard shared an amazing sermon on The right time and place. He spoke about how God orchestrates our steps for His purposes. Hidden seasons refine us, faith sustains us, and providence demands our active participation. Like Esther, we are called to recognise that we are placed “for such a time as this.” 1. God’s Placement Has Purpose Even when we don’t understand why, God positions us in specific places and seasons. “The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9) Esther’s story reminds us that our placement is not accidental but providential. 2. Hidden Seasons Test the Heart Times of obscurity or hardship can either deepen faith or breed bitterness. Naomi’s lament in Ruth 1 shows how pain can distort perspective, yet Jesus calls us not to be offended by Him (Matthew 11:6). These seasons shape whether we trust God or turn away. 3. Faith Perseveres Beyond Sight Faith clings to God even when circumstances haven’t yet aligned with His promises. “Wait on the LORD; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart.” (Psalm 27:14) Courage and patience are essential while waiting for God’s timing 4. Providence Requires Participation God’s providence is not passive; it calls us to act courageously. Esther’s resolve—“If I perish, I perish” (Esther 4:16)—shows that obedience often involves risk. We are invited to partner with God’s purposes, not merely observe them.

    This Sunday we were so privileged to receive the prophetic team from Mbombela. Marius shared on The Prophetic Ministry highlighted the biblical foundation and practical aspects of prophecy within the Christian faith. It begins by grounding prophecy in scripture, noting that the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy (Revelation 19:10) and that believers are encouraged to desire spiritual gifts, especially prophecy (1 Corinthians 14:1). Prophecy is described as a gift available to all, intended to strengthen, encourage, and comfort the church (1 Corinthians 14:3, 31). The example of Jeremiah illustrates how prophecy involves perceiving what God reveals and declaring His word. He then outlines the key elements of prophetic ministry, including the Spirit of Prophecy, the Gift of Prophecy, prophetic teams or schools, prophets themselves, and the Word of God as the foundation. It emphasizes that prophecy is not limited to a select few but is meant to be nurtured within the wider body of believers. A structured process for prophetic ministry is introduced: receiving revelation (what is seen, heard, or sensed), interpreting its meaning, applying it through action, presenting it to the right audience in the right format, and implementing it responsibly. Additional considerations include recording prophetic words for accountability and discerning the right timing for their fulfillment. Overall, the message is that prophecy is a vital and accessible gift for all believers, designed to build up the church through encouragement, guidance, and alignment with God’s word, while being exercised with wisdom, responsibility, and discernment.

    He Has Risen What Now?

    Wayne spoke about what we are called to do after the resurrection of Christ. He reminded us that the resurrection is not only the foundation of our salvation but also the launching point of our new life in Him. From James 2, he highlighted the importance of works—that faith without works is dead. James insists that genuine faith must be visible in action: in how we love, serve, and live out our calling. Works are not the means of salvation, but they are the evidence that salvation has truly taken root in our lives. From Ephesians 2, Wayne emphasized grace. Paul teaches that we are saved by grace through faith, not by works, so that no one can boast. Salvation is God’s gift, entirely undeserved, and it comes through Christ’s death and resurrection. Yet Paul continues in verse 10, saying that we are created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Grace saves us, but grace also empowers us to live differently. Wayne drew out the balance: Grace is the foundation—our salvation rests entirely on what Christ has done. Works are the fruit—our response to grace is a life of obedience, service, and love. He challenged us to see that after the resurrection, we are not called to passive belief but to active discipleship. Grace is the root, works are the fruit, and both together show the fullness of the Christian life.

    The Empty Tomb- Kuda Kumbika

    Kuda shared an amazing sermon about the empty tomb as we will be going into easter this week The empty tomb is proof that Jesus is alive—we worship a living King. Even though He promised to rise, His followers still prepared for death, showing how often we rely on human logic instead of trusting God’s Word. But God’s plans are greater and not limited by our understanding. The stone was rolled away so we could see that the tomb is empty—Jesus has risen, fulfilling every promise. Because He lives, death has no hold on us.
