Human Becoming is a weekly podcast that explores the ins and outs, the good, the bad and the ugly, of what it means to be(come) human. From tackling shame to embracing our anger, this podcast aims to bring you closer to yourself - to what experiences have shaped you and your story, and how you can embrace your own humanity. This podcast is hosted by Tumi Moloto, a human (and healer) becoming, a passionate historian and storyteller, a non-binary, queer African, and a lover of humanity. In their time here on earth, they hope to show humanity that there is another way forward, that moves us away from disconnection, capitalism and collective trauma, towards belonging, compassion, and collective healing. This podcast is the story of their rumbles with the complexity of their own humanity. As they take you along on the journey of their becoming, they hope that the stories shared will give you greater insight into yours.

how to use Human Becoming (an orienting guide)

how to use Human Becoming (an orienting guide)

Hello, dear human, and welcome to the Human Becoming podcast.

It is so, so lovely to have you here.

Human Becoming has been alive for 3 WHOLE YEARS. In that time, I’ve explored themes of shame, desire, sexuality, the shadow, magick, ancestral healing, somatics, money, and so much more. Wherever you are in your journey, Human Becoming has something special for you - and in this episode, I run through all the seasons and what they cover so that you can figure out where you want to jump in.

    Yours in love, always.

    Tumi

    human becoming returns (?)

    human becoming returns (?)

    Human becoming returns (maybe?).

This episode is a little hi! hello! how are you! before I return from my podcasting hiatus to get back to one of my favourite mediums.

I talk about God and our large self, who human becoming is and who I am now (hint hint: who knows!), how I’ve been using Instagram as my metaphorical yoga mat, capitalism, and some of my intentions for this new era of the podcast.

    can we love patriarchal men?

    can we love patriarchal men?

    Can we love patriarchal men?

Can we do the work of love - bell hooks style - with men who are unconsciously upholding the patriarchy?

Once, I would have thought this question deserved an obvious “no”.

But through loving patriarchal men, I realise the truth is a little bit more complex (and heartbreaking).

This is an episode for anyone, who has (in any capacity), desires to do the work of loving and caring for men.

I wish for a world where men can be free part one

I wish for a world where men can be free part one

In this two-part episode, I navigate the complex terrain that men find themselves walking in 2023.

I talk about the ways that the patriarchy robs men of the opportunity to know themselves deeply and to be known, to embrace all sides of themselves - their emotions, their vulnerabilities, their fears, and their humanity.

I talk specifically about the ways that this has impacted my relationship with men, and how men are often asked to choose between intimacy, connection, and vulnerability on the one hand - and power, wealth, and domination on the other. This creates a world where so many of us do not get to experience the beauty and life-giving potential of being in loving relationships with men.

I also look towards a future, where men can be free, and explore what that would look like - and how we get there.

    confessions of a love bomber

    confessions of a love bomber

    I am a love bomber. A narcissist. A gaslighter. A ghoster. A breadcrumber.

In this episode, we discuss these overused terms and how they can be used to invoke the drama triangle (a model created by Stephen Karpman that needs a victim, perpetrator, and bystander in order to create exquisite drama), and how that can lead to a static, boring terrain that is no fun to date in.

This episode is part cultural critique, part love philosophy, part intro to the drama triangle and shadow work, and a personal exploration of how many of these behaviors can be understood from a more compassionate lens.

You solid

Boundlessly grateful for and in awe of your courage to share your journey and experiences with us. It is not only insightful but also comforting and a reminder that no experience is singular or isolated to a single enfleshed being. You a solid ass mf for this, good luck and Godspeed on your journey to becoming human.
