Simply sublime

I love this podcast so much. It’s one of the only ones I’ve kept listening to over the years, and I listen to every single episode (I even do the breathing - it’s like meditation). LeVar has an incredible, immersive voice and he conveys so much empathy in his reading. I love discovering new stories and new authors, and hearing some of my favourite authors in a new way. I can’t recommend this show enough (and frequently do at the book store I work in).

If I could make one recommendation, it would be Mariana Enriquez. She writes horror and any one of her stories would go perfectly on this podcast.

Wonderful stories read by a masterful storyteller

There are so many things to love about this podcast ... for me, the greatest joy is discovering new authors. I also enjoy dipping into genres I’m not usually drawn to, one short story at a time. LeVar is a lovely reader and a generous host. I appreciate his commentary on the authors and stories, and his perspective on how each tale relates to current events and the human condition in general. This podcast is an absolute delight for readers and listeners. Thank you, LeVar and team, for a quality show 💕
