Homecoming to Loving Awareness (Retreat talk)

Homecoming to Loving Awareness (Retreat talk)

We have strong conditioning to identify as a separate self, and to feel all the fears and attachments that arise from not realizing our true belonging. This talk includes teachings and several experiential reflections that help us wake up from the trance of separation. As we grow familiar with the awareness and love that is our shared true nature, we naturally live from that loving, and experience a growing freedom and joy. Cherishing Each Other: A Conversation with Tara Brach and Father Gregory Boyle

Cherishing Each Other: A Conversation with Tara Brach and Father Gregory Boyle

Many are familiar with the Dali Lama’s words “My religion is kindness.” In this conversation you will sense the gritty and real way that we struggling humans can learn to cherish one another. We talk about the relationship between boundaries and compassion; the unshakeable goodness at our core; how we belong to each other, and how judgments arise from delusion and blind us to the blessing of that belonging.
Father Greg Boyle is an American Catholic priest of the Jesuit order. He is the founder and director of Homeboy Industries, the world's largest gang intervention and rehabilitation program, author of several books, including Tattoos on the Heart; Barking to the Choir; and in 2023, The Whole Language: The Power of Extravagant Tenderness.
Father Greg’s life and work are a huge inspiration: he is dedicated to living from love and cultivating loving community with a marginalized population of ex inmates, gang members and their families. Spiritual First Aid Box

I have been meditating for years now and can usually get to a state of peaceful presence on my own. But every so often life gets too stressful for me to reach a calm state without help and and that is when I turn to Tara Brach’s guided meditations as a lifeline. They are so simple and so easy to relax into that they start working within the first few minutes. They are my spiritual first aid box. Her longer talks are excellent as well. I am from South Africa, a pretty stressful place to live in at the moment.

Shame on you

I can’t listen to your podcast any more after reading your article on what love asks of us or whatever. Your position of equating israeli and palestinian suffering as late as december 2023 is unspeakable. It’s also telling that you name the palestinian perpetrator several times in the article but mention the attacks on palestine in the passive tense. You are deliberately not seeing that it isn’t just the zionist government but practically the whole israeli society that is thirsty for palestinian blood. You have many specific mentions of what israelis suffered and a couple of general statements about palestinian suffering.
Shame on you. All your learning and teaching about wholeness etc are worth nothing if they don’t allow you to see the truth in front of your face. Good luck to you in your contortions.

Blessings

I have been following your podcasts for many years (all the way from South Africa) and I love it! Sometimes I even make notes like a student studying your wisdom and insights. Your work has been a God sent to me, has pulled me out of some dark times and given me so much to learn. Thank you Tara! Blessing and love x
