Tasch Talks Mamahood

Natascha Barrett - The Mamahood Coaching Co.

Welcome to Tasch Talks Mamahood, the podcast where we put words to the feelings so many mothers carry, but rarely say out loud, because understanding changes everything. I'm Tasch, a childbirth educator, birth and postpartum doula, breastfeeding coach, baby sleep coach, motherhood educator and, most importantly, a mum of three. For more than 13 years, I've had the privilege of supporting over 4,000 families through pregnancy, birth and early motherhood. And if there's one thing I've learnt, it's this: behind almost every parenting question is a mother wondering if she's enough. This isn't just another parenting podcast full of tips and advice. It's a place to pause. To breathe. To feel understood. Together, we'll explore the real emotional journey of motherhood alongside evidence-based knowledge that helps everything make a little more sense. We'll talk about pregnancy, birth, newborns, breastfeeding, baby sleep, toddlerhood, relationships, identity, mental load, confidence, matrescence and the invisible work of becoming a mother. Some conversations will make you think. Some will make you laugh. Some might make you cry. Some will gently challenge the messages modern motherhood has taught us to believe. But every conversation has one purpose: To help you understand yourself a little more deeply, understand your child a little more compassionately, and leave feeling a little lighter than when you pressed play. Whether you're pregnant with your first baby, recovering after birth, navigating sleepless nights, chasing toddlers, or simply trying to figure out who you are in this season of life... Pull up a chair. Let's have a conversation about motherhood. Until our next conversation... Keep walking the journey.

Nobody Told Me I'd Feel Like This | The Emotional Truth About Becoming a Mum

Nobody Told Me I'd Feel Like ThisDid motherhood feel different to what you imagined? In this very first conversation of Tasch Talks Mamahood, we're talking about something so many mothers feel but rarely say out loud. Why does becoming a mum sometimes feel overwhelming, confusing, lonely or unlike anything we expected... even when we love our children more than words can say? Together we'll explore the emotional journey of becoming a mother, why so many women question themselves, and the powerful concept of matrescence – the natural transition into motherhood that almost nobody prepares us for. If you've ever found yourself wondering: • "Why don't I feel like myself anymore?" • "Am I doing enough?" • "Why does everyone else seem to have it figured out?" • "Will I ever feel confident as a mum?" ...this conversation is for you. My hope is that by the end of this episode you'll understand yourself a little more deeply, carry a little less guilt, and realise that perhaps nothing is wrong with you after all. Maybe... you're simply becoming. In this conversation we explore: • The hidden emotional transition into motherhood • Why feeling different doesn't mean you're failing • What matrescence is and why understanding it changes everything • Learning to let go of impossible expectations • A kinder way to think about confidence, identity and becoming your child's mum Whether you're pregnant, navigating the newborn days, chasing toddlers, or simply trying to find yourself in motherhood again... Pull up a chair. Let's have a conversation.
