Tea and Cake - Jason Kwan

On this episode of Tea and Cake, we’re having a natter with singer, show producer, model, head of Lady Gaga’s little monsters and member of the Bitten Peach family, Jason Kwan. We chat about being a Lady Gaga super fan, growing up as a LGBTQ+ kid in Hong Kong, and finding and creating your chosen family. We also talk about how Jason found his voice through music and glam rock, as well as his work with akt (Albert Kennedy Trust). This episode does also discuss suicide and racism, so this a warning if this is a triggering subject for you. This episode was recorded after Jason released a video on Instagram about racism towards the asian community spurred by the #StopAsianHate campaign, but before the horrible mass shootings in Atlanta. Tea and Cake - Beau Jangles

This week I’m chatting to 1940s f*ckboi and member of the Family Jewels collective, Beau Jangles. We talk about exploring gender through drag performing and personas, finding their performance family through drag kings collectives like Pecs. We also cover the exploding drag king community and competitions like Man Up, as well as creating nights and safe spaces with venues and groups like The Chateau. We also talk about growing up in Norfolk, racism in school and discovering what it’s like to discover their non-binary identity.
