We're All Full of $h!t | Tiger Woods, Bill Simmons, Mark Ruffalo & the Beautiful Art of Explaining Away Bad Decisions

We’re all full of shit. Tiger Woods, Bill Simmons, Mark Ruffalo — three completely different stories, but somehow the same theme: everybody’s got an explanation. Tiger crashes his car. Bill gets caught up in a sports betting mess. Mark Ruffalo finds himself in the middle of a $111 billion media merger and an internet outrage cycle. And then there’s the rest of us. In this episode, Shane gets into why we’re so good at explaining our decisions, defending our behavior, and convincing ourselves that maybe the thing we did wasn’t really that bad. Because sometimes the biggest problem isn’t what we did. It’s the story we tell ourselves about why we did it. Culture, controversy, celebrity chaos, sports, sobriety, and a little reality check along the way. HEART ATTACK. ANGELS. GOD. CALIFORNIA | Sonny Mayo on Surviving, Starting Over & What Actually Matters

Sonny Mayo has spent decades living the life most musicians only dream about. A veteran guitarist and longtime fixture in the heavy music world, Sonny has performed and recorded with bands including Snot, Sevendust, Hed PE, Amen, and the Exies, building a career around loud music, relentless touring, and life on the road. But these days, Sonny’s life looks very different. After recently suffering a massive heart attack and undergoing bypass surgery, Sonny found himself facing something no tour, album, or guitar could prepare him for: his own mortality. And as he fought his way through surgery and recovery, something strange started happening. His caregivers had names like Enoch, Michael, Angel and Gabriel, and his head surgeon was wearing a shirt featuring a burning heart. Coincidence? Or was something bigger happening? In this wide-ranging conversation, Sonny and Shane go far beyond the heart attack. They talk about God, Jesus, spirituality vs. organized religion, sobriety, mortality, and what happens when life forces you to reevaluate everything you thought mattered. They also go down some very different roads: COVID, the Palisades fires, leaving California, the changing culture of America, retiring from music, and Sonny’s new life in Arizona building a real estate business with his wife. After decades in music, Sonny has officially stepped away from the stage, but not from the conversation. This is a story about surviving, starting over, questioning everything, and realizing that maybe the greatest performance of your life begins after the applause stops. We LOVE A Train Wreck | Jed York, Deshaun Watson, Katey Sagal & Why America Is Fighting Canada

Why are we so obsessed with watching other people fail? This week, Shane dives into the bizarre arrest of 49ers CEO Jed York, Deshaun Watson getting booed by Cleveland fans, Katey Sagal celebrating 40 years of sobriety, Trump’s IndyCar spectacle in Washington, D.C., and the latest U.S.-Canada political beef. It’s sports, celebrity culture, politics, sobriety and a whole lot of absurdity, with a sober-minded perspective on why we’re so drawn to the chaos. Because apparently, good news doesn't get clicks. But somebody fist-fighting at Costco over 6 Kirkland towels and an umbrella? Now THAT'S content. We Have Officially Lost the Plot | UFC Controversy, NFL Drama, Baseball's Fourth Out & Politics

UFC controversy, Jayden Daniels and the great LSU jersey-number debate, baseball somehow discovering a fourth out, and the latest circus that is American politics. In this episode, Shane Ramer takes a sarcastic look at the strange world we're living in, and asks why we've become so obsessed with everything, all the time. From athletes and attention-seeking to politics, social media, and the never-ending need to have an opinion, maybe the real problem isn't that there's too much happening... Maybe we're consuming too much of it. Shane also gets into what sobriety taught him about protecting your attention, staying clear-headed, and knowing when to step away from the noise. It's sports. It's culture. It's politics. It's ridiculous. And apparently, baseball has four outs now. Welcome to the plot. We're all a little lost. Brad Pitt Is Drinking Again... And Apparently We Give a $h!T | Celebrity Sobriety, Social Media Scams & Why Everyone Needs to Get Off the Internet

In this episode, Shane takes a sarcastic look at Brad’s decision to drink after seven years sober, the obsession with celebrity recovery, and why we seem to care more about what famous people are doing than what’s happening in our own lives. Then we go down the social media rabbit hole, Facebook arguments, influencer scams, “COMMENT FART AND I’LL SEND YOU MY FREE GUIDE,” and the bizarre reality that social media used to be fun.Because maybe the bigger problem isn't Brad Pitt drinking. Maybe it's that we're all spending way too much time watching everybody else live their lives. Funny, irreverent, and occasionally uncomfortable, as usual. From social media "experts" and AI to dopamine, distraction, and the comfort economy, we explore why real change has less to do with finding the perfect hack and more to do with doing the hard things we've been avoiding.
