Desiree shares a powerful story about driving home from church. At this point in her journey, she'd been really responding to God when He said "jump" - practicing immediate obedience. She found a $10 bill she'd forgotten she'd been carrying. A block from her house, she saw two sisters walking down the street - one looked like a teenager, the other about 5 years old. And God said: "Give them the $10." She didn't understand. She didn't know who they were. She didn't know what they needed. She didn't know WHY God was telling her to give them this money. But she'd been practicing: when God says jump, I jump. So she pulled over in the residential area. She greeted them, walked up with the $10 bill in her hand, and said: "I don't know why, but God is telling me to give this to you." The older sister looked like she was going to cry. She said "God bless you." Two days later, a check for over $500 showed up in the mail. From a lawsuit Desiree didn't even know she was part of. A lawsuit that had settled. Something she had absolutely no clue about. No expectation of. She didn't give the $10 expecting a return. She gave it because God told her to - even though she didn't understand why. And God provided from a source she never could have predicted.     WEEK 3 BEGINS: THE COST OF DELAYED OBEDIENCE This is the hardest episode Desiree has shared yet. And she's sharing it so you don't have to carry the regret she carries. Summer 2023. Desiree was pregnant with her son. She flew to Chicago twice for different events. But neither trip included staying with her mom or going to see her. Her mom was deeply hurt. She called. Desiree could hear it in her voice - the hurt that her daughter had been in town twice without coming to see her. Desiree said "Let me come see you." Her mom brushed it off. Said she wasn't feeling well. Said it was okay. And Desiree KNEW. She knew in that moment God was telling her: "Go see her. Don't take the excuse. She needs to see you. GO ANYWAY." But she didn't. She let her mom brush her off. She accepted the excuse. She told herself "I'll come another time. She said she's not feeling well, so I'll give her space." October 31, 2023. Her mom passed away. And the next time Desiree saw her after that phone call? She was in the hospital. On her death bed. And she literally could not speak. That's what delayed obedience cost Desiree. She didn't get to see her mom healthy one last time. She didn't get to reconcile the hurt. She didn't get to say whatever words needed to be said. The last conversation they had was that phone call. And Desiree will carry that regret for the rest of her life. And God put Desiree in the most peaceful place she's ever been - positioned exactly where she needs to be to do the work God's called her to do.     THE 6-YEAR REVELATION What if God's been working a master plan in your life for YEARS - and you just can't see it yet? In today's faith-building episode, Desiree shares one of the most powerful tools for getting confirmation from God: the 24-hour test. After her Highway 1 reconnection moment with God in 2018 (from Day 7), she still needed direction about her career path. Should she get back into broadcast media or move forward with helping couples? And then you were confused when it didn't work out the way you thought?
