Fallen MPD's partner thanks community support. First case of bird flu in Minnesota dairy cows
The partner of a Minneapolis police officer killed in the line of duty is thanking friends, family members and the community for their continued support. Tori Myslajek said in a statement Thursday their family is completely devastated by the loss. She said Mitchell’s greatest joys in life were his four children, who range in age from 4 to 20 years old.
And the Minnesota Board of Animal Health confirmed highly pathogenic avian influenza in a dairy herd in Benton County. While it’s the first reported case of bird flu in Minnesota dairy cows, the risk to the public is still low. -
Memorial for MPD officer; Minnesota AG says man convicted for 1998 murder should be exonerated
A memorial for Minneapolis Police Officer Jamal Mitchell is scheduled for next week.
And the Minnesota Attorney General's Office said today that a man serving a life sentence for a 1998 murder was wrongfully convicted and should be exonerated.

New legal cannabis dispensary opens on Leech Lake Reservation
The closest legal cannabis dispensary to the Twin Cities is opening for business Thursday on The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe reservation in Cass County. And the Minnesota Legislative Auditor's office is expected to release a report next week about state oversight of the nonprofit Feeding Our Future.

2 jury members out as Feeding our Future deliberations begin
Jurors in the Feeding Our Future trial are resuming deliberations Wednesday morning after the presiding judge in the case seated two alternates amid allegations of jury tampering. And a handful of DFL candidates will have a straight shot to the Legislature after they filed to run unopposed.
