Warren G. Harding is elected president in 1920, thanks in part to a backroom deal between Republican Party power brokers and influential oil men. To make good on that deal, Harding’s Secretary of the Interior, Albert Fall, quietly leases the federally owned Teapot Dome oil field in Wyoming and two others in California to oil magnates Harry Sinclair and Edward Doheny. But to hand out the leases, Fall wants something in return.

Ferretyness ,

My favouritest podcast

Honestly this is my favourite favourite podcast. I love how much I learn about the history and people of the scandals.

Quite a few topics I’d never heard about before.

Some I return to for a second listen.

Well done Lindsay Graham and Wondery.

Handsome Carl ,

Obvious slants are really starting to show

Lindsay Graham’s irresponsible disdain for American conservatives is really revealing itself. In the Oklahoma City bombing series, Graham fed us a choppy, rushed, disrespectful product which couldn’t wait to smear the right. The perpetrators, McVeigh and Nichols, were brought to justice, but Lindsay was more interested in convicting the current right.
