    In Australia, Domestic and family violence continues to impact Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women at disproportionately high rates. In this episode of Blak Justice, 'Leah' shares her lived experience of domestic violence, speaking about the realities of survival, and the challenges of seeking safety and support as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander woman living in a remote community. Like many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, Leah did not call the police. Her story reflects the deep mistrust, fear, and complex realities mob have with the justice system that shape decisions around seeking help, and the gaps in systems that are meant to protect.
