[Part 2 of 3] *** Content warning: Gun violence, sexual abuse, child sexual abuse, child abuse *** In 1992, a chance discovery by a UPS delivery driver would lead to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives – commonly known as the ATF – launching an investigation into David Koresh’s activities at Mount Carmel in Waco, Texas. Upon discovering that Koresh’s Branch Davidians were stockpiling illegal weapons, the agency began planning a raid that was also intended to boost their image with the public… but the consequences would be disastrous. --- Narration – Anonymous Host Research & writing – Erin Munro Production & music – Mike Migas Audio editing – Anthony Telfer Sign up for Casefile Premium: Apple PremiumSpotify PremiumPatreonFor all credits and sources, please visit https://casefilepodcast.com/case-339-waco-part-2-3 Hosted on Acast. MISSING: Melissa Casias

In June 2025, Melissa Casias dropped her husband off at work in Los Alamos, New Mexico… then did something nobody expected. She turned around and drove home. By that afternoon, she had vanished, leaving behind her wallet, her keys, both of her personal phones wiped to factory settings, and a family already splitting in two over what to believe. Her husband, Mark, insists she walked away on her own. Her parents and siblings are certain something far worse happened to her. Surveillance video proves she was alive walking along Highway 518 that day. But where she went next - and why - is a question that only deepens the further you pull at it. If you have any information about Melissa’s disappearance, please contact New Mexico State Police at 505-425-6771.   Source materials for this episode cannot be listed here due to character limitations. Life as a sovereign citizen: Brodie Finegan Forbes Pt. 1

At 21, Brodie Finegan Forbes found himself in the centre of the sovereign citizen movement, which he calls a ‘decentralised, pseudo-legal cult’. The combination of a troubled childhood, loss of his burgeoning music career, and societal and psychological pressures led him to 24-hour Zoom ‘echo chambers’ where he learned how to challenge authority, take on judges, and terrorise people with paperwork. He was part of a ‘chosen few’ who had figured out a ‘secret’. At least that's what he thought... In this episode, Gary chats with Brodie about the lure of the sovereign citizen movement, how he ended up living in a remote Victorian compound, and the bizarre tactics used by the movement to manipulate the law and avoid accountability. Scared, alone, and homeless, he did the worst thing a sovcit can do - he went to the police.  In part two of his chat with Gary, Brodie takes us inside his journey of escaping the sovereign citizen movement, and shares what he’s learnt since.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Disappearance of Amy Lynn Bradley

When Ron Bradley won an all-expense paid cruise to the Caribbean in 1998, it seemed like a great opportunity to have one last family vacation with his wife, Iva, and his kids, twenty-three-year-old Amy and twenty-one-year-old Brad. In March, the family flew to Puerto Rico, where they boarded “Rhapsody of the Seas,” a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, and set off for the island of Curacao. The trip was everything Ron and his wife had hoped for, but just two days after departing from Puerto Rico, Amy went missing and their lives would never be the same again. If anyone has any information about the whereabouts of Amy Bradley, they are encouraged to contact the family through their website amybradleyismissing.com or the FBI at tips.fbi.gov. Tracey Valesini Wasn’t Reported Missing For Four Years

In January 1993, 20-year-old Tracey Valesini appeared at the Campbelltown Courthouse in Sydney for a legal matter. She was last seen sitting inside the courtroom that day. After that moment, Tracey was never heard from again. More than 30 years later, there is still no definitive answer about what happened to the young mother or where her remains may be. But the case has never truly gone cold. Journalist Ashlea Hansen has since uncovered new evidence, determined to keep Tracey’s story alive and bring long-overdue attention to her disappearance. Ellery Jane Doe: The Greatest Mystery of All - Part 1

Link: For 43 years, nobody has known her name. In December 1983, a young mother was shot four times and her body dumped on a remote New York highway. She had no identification. Nobody reported her missing. She was buried as Ellery Jane Doe — named after the town where she was found — and has remained unidentified ever since. The FBI couldn't name her. Interpol couldn't. Homicide detectives couldn't. But Catching Evil listeners have blown this case wide open — placing serial killer Christopher Wilder in New York just 48 hours before her body was found, and cracking a coded note found in her coat pocket that had defeated experts for decades. Now, cold case detectives are asking our worldwide true crime audience to make the final connection. Listen to the episode, then go to our podcast blog and look at Ellery Jane Doe's photographs. Share the link with everyone you know, particularly if they are overseas.
