Common Sense with Dan Carlin is an independent look at politics and current events from popular New Media personality Dan Carlin.

Carlin's self-described "Martian" viewpoints infuse each episode with a political alien's take on the world around us and the problems it faces. It's a smart, unique (and admittedly U.S.-centric) program that doesn't dumb down the information or analysis for the slowest person in the room.

Carlin's rapid-fire staccato voice has been compared to William Shatner after too many espressos. That, plus his penchant for making everyone in the audience mad at him eventually, makes for a witch's brew of a podcast that is not for everyone. But for those craving a deeper intellectual analysis, a less partisan approach and unpredictable outside-the-box revelations, Common Sense with Dan Carlin is a feast for the mind.

Dan is a great counterpoint to anyone who thinks their opinion is 100% right.

This is my favourite podcast and is an incredible source of knowledge. Dan takes cutting edge politics that are typical on university campuses but counterpoints them with the cynicism that comes with years of journalism and political observation. I’ve found my opinions sometimes change after an episode, even opinions I felt safe having. I only wish he would run for president.

Long time listener

I know there's not been many shows in the last year or so but have been listening to dan for a while and always found his views to be interesting with some nuance.

Hope we get back to regular podcasts soon when he feels he has stuff to talk about. Until then I'm happy to wait

Common Sense is now road kill

Wow..... What a disaster. This used to be a great podcast. Clever and clear. An honest set of ideas that rose above the noise. Nothing for a year at a time when the noise has been deafening, a perfect time for a bit of simple common sense. Finally another episode...... all we have here is a confused ramble of nothing. Completely incoherent. No wonder there have been no episodes for a year. Don’t bother Dan, you are like a deer in the headlights. Common Sense is now road kill. RIP.
