    In Plain Sight - The Murders of Jack and Jennifer Edwards

    John Edwards was a man with a past. A past filled with domestic violence and ex partners and children who were terrified of him. When John met and married Olga, a young and beautiful Russian woman, the abuse continued and when she gave birth to their two children Jack and Jennifer, sure enough the abuse included them as they grew. Eventually Olga grew tired of John's abuse and left with the children, which only further enraged John and on the afternoon of 5th July, 2018, John carried out his form of revenge and shot his two beautiful children to death.  Join Belinda over a coffee or three as she takes a dive into the heartbreaking murders of Jack and Jennifer Edwards and the systematic failures that were meant to protect them from their father, but instead gave the man with a violent past a gun permit.     Shot in the Dark - The Murder of John Newman

    On a cold September evening in 1994, Cabramatta, NSW, local politician John Newman was gunned down in his driveway in front of his terrified fiancee. John, a Cabramatta local since he was a child, was a formidable figure in local and state politics and was very vocal about the rise in drug use and gang related crime the area. And for John, the cause of this problem sat squarely at the feet of Vietnamese migrants who moved to the area and in particular one called Phuong Ngo, a migrant who had migrated to Australia after the Vietnam war and was one of John's biggest political opponents.  There was no love lost between the two, and when John was shot dead that September night, Phuong was quickly named as the prime suspect. But it would be many years and many trials before the public got any answers, and even then, many people thought the wrong man ended up being jailed.  Join Belinda over a cuppa or two as she discusses Australia's first political assassination.     'A dingo's got my baby' - The Death of Azaria Chamberlain

    It's the night of 17th August, 1980 and Lindy and Michael Chamberlain are camping in one of Australia's most famous landmarks and natural wonders, Ayers Rock, Northern Territory - now known as Uluru - with their three young children. The family are relaxing with other campers and baby Azaria is asleep in the family's tent which is nearby. The chatter is interrupted by a baby's cry followed by the heartbreaking cry from a mother that would soon be heard all around the world - "My god, my god. A dingo's got my baby."     It's July 2001 and British couple Peter Falconio and Joanne Lees are making the most of their Australian adventure by hiring a car and taking in the stunning Australian Outback in the Northern Territory.... but, sadly, only one of them would make it out of the state alive.  What happened on that awful July night left a young man dead, a young woman traumatised and divided public opinion on what actually happened.     The Easey Street Murders

    It's January 1977, in Easey Street, Collingwood, and high school friends Susan Bartlett, 27 and Suzanne Armstrong, 28 had bid farewell to Susan's brother after having dinner with him and his girlfriend and were getting ready to settle down for the night. Suzanne's infant son Gregory was already asleep in his cot.  The 'two Sue's' as they were known as were never seen alive again and were found savagely murdered in their Easey Street terrace three days later, baby Gregory found unharmed but severely dehydrated and distraught. Police were desperate to catch the girls killer, but as leads went cold years rolled into decades with no suspect in custody, one of Australia's most brutal murders went cold.  Until 2024, that is, when a suspect was arrested in Italy thanks to DNA left at the murder scene.   Join Belinda over a cuppa or two as she discusses the murder that was once desceibed as 'Victoria's Most Brutal Crime' and how we are now, finally, going to see a suspect take the stand.  Like what you hear?
