Dead Eyes

Actor/comedian Connor Ratliff (The Chris Gethard Show, UCB, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) embarks upon a quest to solve a very stupid mystery that has haunted him for two decades: why Tom Hanks fired him from a small role in the 2001 HBO mini-series, Band Of Brothers.

Season 3 is missing
23/05/2024
Ok so season 3 isn’t missing, but if you’re a dummy like me looking for it you get confused because it only has a season 1 and 2 listed in sections, and you have to go digging in the “all episodes” list to find the unlabelled season 3 episodes. (This is the greatest podcast but please update the metadata you sweet, sweet angels)
Compulsive Listening

Hooks you with episode one and you’ll just have to keep listening until it’s compelling conclusion. You sort of know how it will end but it does not disappoint.
Wow

Just wow. Proof that story telling is far more important than the actual story. What an artiste.
Thoroughly enjoyable!

Paul Sheer mentioned this podcast on a episode of ‘HDTGM’. I thought I’d take a listen and was instantly hooked. Great storytelling and throughly enjoyable with a satisfying ending.
Thank you - I loved every minute.

Joy! Refreshing. Like nothing else. I feel like a better person for listening. I learned good life lessons. Like being a fly on the wall in your psych session. Full circle satisfying.
10 / 5 stars

I saw Connor on Seth Myers, and that was the first I’d heard of him. Saw him in many bit parts, but didn’t know his name. When the premise of the podcast was laid out, and the promise of the 31st episode guest, I vowed to start at the beginning and listen through to the end, not at all expecting the piles of wisdom imparted on the listeners. How even the biggest names in show business experience “failure” on the regular, and how it is dealt with. Fantastic podcast. Would make a great musical. Now, on to episode “Tom”.
Perfect

Deadeyes is quite simply the greatest podcast. I’ve just listened to episode 31 and I have tears in my eyes. Anyone who has ever experienced rejection of any kind will find great comfort in this podcast. It is a beautifully crafted exploration of what it means and what it feels like when life altering decisions are taken out of your hands. Thank you Connor for creating something so perfect from your tiny personal tragedy.
Keep going forever

Connor. Please never stop. We love your voice in our heads. It doesn’t matter if this format changes. YOU and the team have to keep doing these. Talk about anything. Just keep them coming. This is my favourite podcast.
Refreshing honest and funny

Connor therapy
22/01/2021
What is the point of this podcast? Every episode is Connor telling the same story and whatever guest he could get a hold of reassuring him that he’s a ‘good actor’. This has overstated its welcome, either get Tom Hanks on or call it quits.
