"You were not in a good place last night, you need to be better"

What It’s Like To Go Sober When Everyone Else Isn’t

What It’s Like To Go Sober When Everyone Else Isn’t

Sobriety gets a really bad wrap.

If you're in your 20s and you decide to take a night off drinking, you almost always have to offer up some sort of excuse.

"I'm taking it easy tonight" is never met with open arms.

But despite this, more and more people are becoming sober curious. In fact young people these days are drinking less than they did 20 years ago. So what's it really like to go sober when everyone else isn't?

Allira is joined by Sam Wilson, Founder of Sober Mates to share her story.

And breathe - what a fantastic show!

Wellness content that I actually enjoy - just the perfect tone and not overwhelming. Love Allira - she is fantastic! Well done Mamamia!

Big mamamia fan, but…

As a media company that holds itself in high regard it terms of trust in science and facts, listening to a person talk about crystals and clearing away negative energy from her house makes me want to weep into my coffee. This is just utter white-girl, wishy washy garbage. To anyone who needs to hear this: make that psychologist appointment, drink a big glass of water, try and go for a walk, and go to bed at a reasonable hour without doom scrolling tik tok looking for the answers to your mental health amongst this rubbish.

Skrinkles. ,

I came here to get away from woo-woo…

But woo-woo is what I got. You might want to tell Abbie Chatfield to mention that in her spiel about your pod - This is not the podcast I was expecting. I’m actually about to laugh at your trying to convince me about some rocks to guard my house. No thank you darl, I’ll get two big dogs because I’m not delusional. Come on… it’s like the basic white girl equivalent of thoughts and prayers… OH JESUS YOU JUST SAID MANIFESTING. I’m out.
