Funny, insightful, and nerdy in exactly the same way that I’m nerdy. A little bit of metaphysics, a little bit of philosophy, a lot of obsessive compulsive attention to detail, a little bit of deeply heartfelt discussion of a clearly beloved franchise.
When Andor came out, and I felt like Star Wars was finally being made for adults. I was so enthralled that I went looking for people to talk to about it, and found this podcast on a recommendation. I went through with them blow by blow as Andor got released and by the time I got through all of that, I was hooked and subbed to the Patreon to get more.
It’s been a couple of years now, and I’ve worked through all the backlog of content while doing my dog walks (Clone Wars, woo!). I can’t count the number of times I’ve lost it at some of the comments being made and had people looking at me like I am crazy as I walk the dog while madly chuckling to myself. Some of my favourites that I keep telling other people about:
* When you made the comparison of the Anakin and Padme relationship to current American politics. “A red state military humvee driver dating a liberal from a blue-state city”. So accurate, so poignant, so funny.
* The discussion about the “relationship” between Kallus and Zeb, when Kallus is getting honeypotted on an ice planet by an 8ft purple and bearded bear/Lasat who “accidentally recruited him”. Just so much mirth.
* The genuine adoration of some beautifully crafted minor characters (AP5, Maul, Plo, Dooku).
* The deeply felt sadness at how close to being good the Obi-wan series was, that keeps coming up again and again.
You guys have a chemistry that shines through, and it makes your content brilliant. I am pretty sure I have both agreed and disagreed with each of you at some point in the 90 episodes.
I had to create a patreon account purely to sub, but it was worth it. And now I found myself working out how to give a review so I can give you a review.
Thank you for the lols
Also if you ever consider having guests for an episode or two, count me in!
