Australians Will Talk About This Day For Generations

Melbourne has officially made it out of lockdown with shops, cafes, pubs and more reopening from today, and restrictions eased significantly. Our Melbourne OutLouders tell us what they'll be doing with their newfound freedom.

Plus, In case you missed it: On Monday a Victorian roads project pushed ahead with the removal of a tree that was deeply scared to First Nations people, sparking a conversation about what we value and respect in Australia in 2020.

And, we might have reached Peak Pregnancy Announcement with the celebrity who got another celebrity to create an almost three-minute short film to share the news. Em Rata enlisted Lena Dunham to help craft the announcement while she also penned an essay for Vogue about gender.

    THE END BITS

    Fake Melania 2.0

There’s a rumour about Melania Trump that's gaining international attention. It started with the theory there's been a "fake" Melania standing in for the First Lady at official events. Now, the internet is abuzz with the theory there are TWO fake Melanias. From their posture, to their height and bone structure, something isn't right.

And, Jessie explains a story involving thirteen Australian women, who were forced to have an invasive medical exam at Doha Airport, after a newborn baby was found abandoned in a bathroom at the terminal.

Plus, the team share their insights in a Group Therapy session, after an anonymous Outlouder reached out, caught between her friendship circle and her sister.

The Incredible Cost Of Melbourne's Lockdown

The city of Melbourne and parts of regional Victoria have been living in lockdown, under some of the toughest restrictions in the world for most of 2020. With lockdown finally/hopefully limping to an end, we asked our Victorian Outlouders to tell us how they're really feeling, while Holly explains what's going on with the second wave of COVID-19 in Manchester, in the UK.

Plus, two prominent Aussie women have taken an original approach when it comes to their maiden names, including a modern take on tradition and a clever business idea.

And, our best and worst of the week including a surprise Instagram DM from Jessie's teenage crush.

Nobody Needs To See That On Zoom

Nobody Needs To See That On Zoom

SAS Australia premiered on Aussie screens this week and it's making a lot of headlines. Mia explains why audiences can't look away and takes us through the drama between Roxy Jacenko & Candice Warner, tells us what's going on with Schapelle Corby, and why the Honey Badger is making women uncomfortable.

Plus, "micro-weddings" have seen a huge boost in 2020 for obvious reasons as more and more couples opt for small ceremonies with just a few guests at home or even online.  So is the mini-mony here to stay? Or will we ditch them as soon as we're allowed to have big celebrations again?

And, the Zoom incident that left an American commentator quite literally exposed in front of his colleagues.

Not All Nipples Are Created Equal

Not All Nipples Are Created Equal

Two election wins over the weekend showed us two very different versions of politician's personal and family lives. Holly tells us about Jacinda Ardern’s landslide victory in New Zealand, the re-election of the ACT's Andrew Barr and Gladys's grim declaration about love.

Plus, Nipple Equality: Two Australian influencers have called out Instagram for a double standard when it comes to women baring breast on social media.

And, Leigh Campbell shares her wisdom when it comes to facials and answers the question many have wondered, "are they really worth it?"

How To Tell If You're Rich In Australia

How To Tell If You're Rich In Australia

What makes you ‘rich’ in Australia in 2020? The Prime Minister started a bit of a ding-dong this week when he suggested that someone earning $180k was not ‘rich’, and plenty of commentators weighed in. Since no-one can agree on a number, we’ve come up with a different way to tell if you are, in fact, rich.

Plus, why aren’t we talking about estrangement in families? Kee Reece, who is filling in for Mia, talks about how Mariah Carey’s new memoir made her feel seen, heard and understood when it comes to disconnecting from toxic family members.

And, our best and worst of the week.

AlexVioletKury ,

Thank you

I just don’t know where to start with this podcast. It was honestly the best thing I discovered in 2020 and has been my saving grace in this Melbourne lockdown. The empathy these wonderful ladies have had for Melburnians made me feel so understood and it has been a space I could come to terms with what was happening in these crazy times but still feel so hopeful about the world, life and all it has to offer.
Also it’s just brilliant journalism, I love laughing and crying with you about current affairs and will continue to do so (I hope) for a very long time.

CLSMS ,

My favourite podcast!

I really love this podcast! There is always some conversation between the girls that can be used as a conversation starter.

MeBlizz ,

My thrice weekly go-to

I’ve been listening to these ladies for years now! A hugely enjoyable and informative part of my week.
