Haters gonna hate

Finding the 1 star reviews really upsetting for these wonderful women. Other podcasts of a similar theme have actually spent LESS time taking about Gaza but because Mia has been targeted for being Jewish, antisemitism is running riot. Of course, she is going to be sympathetic to Israel but if you have listened to what she has said, she is devastated by all of the suffering in both Palestine and Israel. Two things can be true at the same time. There is a long history with horrendous suffering on both sides. Being so hateful is not helping. I don’t think it’s this podcasts job to cover this topic in depth. They have talked about it at least 3 times. There are plenty of other resources for that. Please use your time to do something productive and less vicious because these women are not responsible for this atrocity and holding them to account like they are is outrageous.

Shameful

During the holocaust, the New York Times used to bury stories coming from the Europe in the middle of the paper so people wouldn’t know what was happening. Mamamia are censoring discussion about Palestine because they know what is happening is a genocide. They also know the overwhelming majority of people are horrified at what Israel is doing and they don’t want to see or hear that criticism. There was no such silencing on Oct 7th. Regardless, people aren’t stupid. The world knows now. And history will not look onto you favourably as one of the many in Australian media who were aiders and bidders of a genocidal regime. Mia Freedman will be part of those who will be studied in the history books as the Zionists who hid the war crimes of Israel during a genocide. What a legacy.

Good fun!

This is like listening in on a conversation between great friends who don't always see eye to eye but respect each other's opinions. Topical and fun listening Update 13 April 22 MMO is starting to sound a bit tired and the over familiarity of the hosts is boring. I think a fresh voice would save this great podcast from becoming a bore. I find myself skipping through segments and often turn it off before it’s finished which is a shame

Update Feb 2024
Very soon to be unfollowing. The podcast really needs a refresh of hosts to save it. It’s time to go Holly and Jessie. Mia is kooky, fun and smart and a much better host when not hosting with H and J.
I’m not sure when this podcast thought its listeners wanted to hear about the weddings, babies and banality of their lives. What women are talking about is no longer an apt description for this show. The hosts have lost some perspective and the ability to really tap into what people want to hear and are actually talking about. 2 things happened lately that have made me finally tune out. Mia’s disclosure that her husband should have been at the Taylor Swift concert in order to understand her (his wife) better and yet another dodgy subscriber ep about Jessie’s parenting style. For crying out loud enough talking about yourselves and more talking about what women are talking about….which is incidentally not you or your families.
The Spill is smarter, funnier and less self indulgent
