    Calle Málaga, The Serpent’s Skin and Roommates (Movie Squad Podcast #533)

    With Simon Miraudo away on special assignment, Tristan Fidler and Lucy Rutherford are dusting off their finest frocks in preparation for the Devil Wears Prada sequel during Movie Squad.  Lucy then takes us to Tangier which is the setting of Calle Malaga, a new Spanish drama starring Carmen Maura (from Pedro Almodóvar films like Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown). The 79-year-old María Ángeles (Maura) is forced to leave her childhood home, when her daughter plans to sell it to pay for a divorce. Avoiding a retirement home, María moves back into the empty loft and secretly lives there while it’s on the market, discovering new experiences and relationships. Calle Malaga is out in cinemas now. Next up, Tristan discusses the work of Australian independent filmmaker Alice Maoi Mackay. Her latest horror romance, The Serpent’s Skin, follows trans woman Anna (Alexandra McVicker) who moves to the big city to live with her older sister (Charlotte Chimes) and discovers she has supernatural abilities during a violent robbery. The Serpent’s Skin is available to buy or rent digitally. There is also a podcast-exclusive review of the new teen comedy Roommates directed by Chandler Levack (I Like Movies), produced by Adam Sandler and starring his daughter Sadie Sandler.     Exit 8, All That’s Left of You and Special Guest Rania Ghandour (Movie Squad Podcast #532)

    Movie Squad goes global this week, with Tristan Fidler and Simon Miraudo taking Brekky host Pam Boland around the world. First up, Tristan kicks off a review of Exit 8, the creepy Japanese video game adaptation about a man who gets stuck in a looping, subterranean train station.     The Drama, Undertone, Super Mario Galaxy Movie and Megadoc (Movie Squad Podcast #531)

    After a week off, the Blockbuster Babes Tristan Fidler and Simon Miraudo reunite with Brekky host Pam Boland to cover every genre under the sun: horror, documentary, fantasy… But first: The Drama.     Dead Lover, Hoppers and Honey Bunch (Movie Squad Podcast #530)

    The weather is cold, Simon Miraudo‘s speaking French, and there’s talk of a movie featuring beavers. It’s a very Canadian episode of Movie Squad! First up, Tristan Fidler leads a review of Grace Glowicki and Ben Petrie’s surreal Canadian horror-romance Dead Lover, now available digitally in Australia. Does the third Frankenstein-themed film in the last six months finally hit the mark for the Blockbuster Babes? And will Brekky host Pamela Boland stop stink-shaming its main character?     The Bride, The Plague, GOAT and The Ice Tower (Movie Squad Podcast #528)

    Tristan Fidler and Simon Miraudo make a triumphant return to Movie Squad with not one, not two, not three, not five, but four new reviews. During their on-air segment with Pam Boland on Breakfast, Tristan reviews Maggie Gyllenhaal’s ambitious “stew” of a monster movie, The Bride!, starring Jessie Buckley and Christian Bale.     How to Make a Killing, Midwinter Break and Alpha (Movie Squad Podcast #527)
