    Dr Michael Carr-Gregg is one of Australia’s highest profile child and adolescent psychologists. He’s a prolific author and broadcaster, with regular appearances on Australian television and radio. He also specialises in corporate mental health, families and the seemingly ever-present issue of adolescent use of technology and its effect on mental health. In this discussion, I talk with Michael about a recent article in the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper about a call for banning phones in schools. Now, you might already have a strong view about this and wonder why the point is still being argued. But Michael brings insight into the debate based on extensive research and experience. In fact he was asked by a former NSW minister for education to conduct a review and write a report into the non-educational use of mobile devices in NSW schools.     Dr Pete Stebbins has over 20 year's experience as keynote speaker and facilitator. He's a published author of books on leadership, resilience and change, and also a guest psychologist on Australian television's Channel 7. I caught up with Pete to work through some of the key points of the most recent edition of his book, titled "Leading Flourishing Schools, Building HIGH CAPACITY School Culture". It's a title that's filled with promise, and followed up on the very first page with a quote that's, well, quite confronting. Pete's thesis centres around the idea that school culture can have a massive effect on the capacity of staff and students.     Yong Zhao is a Federation Distinguished Professor in the school of education at the university of Kansas and a professor in educational leadership at the Melbourne graduate school of education. He's published many books, articles and papers and is quite outspoken on ways to avoid looking to the past, and instead looking to the future for ways to improve education. Yong joined me on the podcast in July 2021, and it's great to have him back on the show in the lead up to the 2022 Sydney Morning Herald Schools Summit, where he'll be giving a keynote address. Yong's theme this year? Learners without borders: new conditions of learning and teaching I caught up with Yong before the summit to dive into some of the ideas he'll be presenting on.     James O'Loghlin is one of Australia's most well-known presenters and entertainers. Many would know him as the host of The New Inventors on ABC television and for his programs on ABC local radio. James has engaged with hundreds of innovators over the years and worked extensively with organisations to explain how innovation happens, and how people can be more innovative. He's also just recently launched a podcast with Professor Ian Hickie called Minding Your Mind, which explores the complex world of mental health. James is presenting at the 2021 Western Australian Secondary Schools Executives Association conference on the subject of overcoming barriers to education. I caught up with James prior the conference to tease out some of the tricky issues in this space.
