Ep. 11 - Cupid After Dark
Ah, February, month of love. It's tradition in many countries to give tokens of our affection to the one whose heart was struck by cupid like a gold rush. But on Valentine's Day 2010, Richard Schoeck would unfortunately walk right into a trap disguised as a romantic rendezvous, reminding us that amidst the delicate flower arrangements and construction paper cards bordered with frilly lace, there is at times, a much darker side to love.

Ep. 10 - Down the Hatch
The downtown Eastside of Vancouver, British Columbia is not only considered "Canada's poorest postal code" but is also no stranger to tragedy or crime. The streets contain an unpolished tarnish compared to the rest of the city. Between it's vintage diners and abandoned corner stores, it's peppered with sex workers and drug addicts among the overwhelming homeless population. Unfortunately, there are some who also see this as an opportunity to take advantage of those who are mistakenly considered transient or deemed insignificant by societal standards. One Canadian serial killer would prove this brutal circumstance to be very much true. Known as the "Boozing Barber", Gilbert Paul Jordan is thought to be responsible for at least 10 murders but, maybe because of his unexpected and peculiar method, would only pay the price for one.

Ep. 9 - Fight or Flight
Quintessential teenager, Adrianne Jessica Jones, was happy and free under the Texas sun. Like any teenage experience, we expect the key elements to usually play a part: high school, hobbies, friends, boys. What we don't expect is a bend in the road, swiftly steering us right into the middle of a story about obsessive desire, a possible tryst and a murder plot. Who knew young love could be so deadly?

Ep. 8 - Dangers, Toils and Snares
Ryan Poston, a young attorney at law from Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, is shot to death by his girlfriend, Shayna Hubers, in October 2012. Two people, one gun, and left in the aftermath: only one story. Like other similar cases, the final question always begging to be answered is: was it self-defense or cold-blooded murder?

Ep. 7 - And Baby Makes Three
A long overdue hello, to you, dear listener. Thank you for sticking with me, and being so patient. The Dark Divide is back, and I've decided to release some smaller episodes in between larger ones that demand more time and research, so you can still get your fix. I hope you enjoy this mini-sode about an innocent Craigslist post that Michelle Wilkins responded to in 2015 for free maternity clothes. A simple task that led to one of the most heinous and savage acts to ever happen in Longmont, Colorado and also, the rest of the country.

Ep. 6 - Haste and Honor
On January 1, 2008, Yaser Said carried out the unspeakable as his two teenage daughters would never make it out of his vehicle alive. Later, many will question what they could have done or should have done to prevent such a senseless tragedy. How does one keep their head above water in the throes of fear and power? Where do we go when the ones who have the responsibility to protect us are the very thing we need protection from?

The best podcast
A lovely presentation with no annoying chatter about her private life or asking for money.
I’m so glad I finally found this podcast and you will be too.

Such an incredible story-teller. Some of the most beautiful and enchanting use of language and writing that you’ll ever come across in the true-crime genre. Or, any genre for that matter. Well done. Don’t stop.
Beautiful dark poetry
This woman has an incredible way of speaking and delivering the story. Rather than sounding like the standard mono-tone robot this genre tends to attract, she speaks with a lovely cadence. The writing is also brilliant, so poetic and well researched.
