    EP74: Purity Culture

    EP74: Purity Culture

Here at The XYZ Experiment we think the topic of purity culture is more relevant than ever. Especially after the explosion of discussion and debate following Harrison Butker's speech to a graduating class.
In this episode we unravel the complex story of purity culture, exploring its origins, core beliefs, and lasting effects on individuals and society. You will hear personal stories from our own Gen Y Darsh who grew up within the purity culture and Leonie who joined a church aged 15 and devoted herself to this framework.
We examine the psychological and emotional consequences and discuss the ways in which purity culture intersects with broader social and religious movements.
Join us as we learn how purity culture shapes perceptions of sexuality, relationships, and self-worth, and what steps Darsh and Leonie took to create healthier and more inclusive approaches to these vital aspects of life.
