    Douglas Cleaves

    Douglas Cleaves

"Hey, don't shoot, I understand what's going on, don't shoot. We can work this out."

Just after midnight on 19 October 1985, Douglas Cleaves was relaxing with his sister and two of his friends at his home in Anchorage, Alaska. The four had eaten dinner earlier that evening and were watching "Fame" when they heard a couple of loud knocks at the front door. Doug's sister, Susan, got up to get it.

Standing at the door was a masked figure wearing a balaclava, combat gloves, and a tan-colored trench coat, who was holding what looked like a bolt-action hunting rifle. This unknown individual stormed inside and shot Doug five times, ignoring the man's pleas as he lay helpless on the ground, having lost his legs in a terrible accident just a few months prior...

Special thanks to Susan Ludwig, Doug's sister, who has championed her brother's story for several years now. If you know anything about his still-unsolved murder, please reach out to one of the following numbers:

    - Anchorage Police Department: (907) 786-8900

    - Crime Stoppers: (907) 561-STOP

    The Little Rock Slasher

    The Little Rock Slasher

"There is a strong possibility the person who did this continues to work and/or live in our community. He likely has familiarity with the area in which the victims were attacked."

Between August 2020 and April 2021, four brutal knife attacks were reported in the Midtown neighborhood of Little Rock, Arkansas. The first two victims, Larry McChristian & Jeff Welch, were each murdered in residential neighborhoods in August and September of 2020. The third and fourth victims, Debra Walker and Marlon Franklin, were attacked separately in April of 2021. Only one, Debra Walker, survived, but was treated for more than fifteen stab wounds after being left for dead.

Just weeks after the final two knife attacks, police in Little Rock - aided by the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Team - came forward with information pointing to a burgeoning serial killer. However, in the year-and-a-half since, this aspiring killer has gone quiet, and it remains undetermined whether he has moved on to new territory or is simply biding his time...

To watch the surveillance footage of this unknown offender, please check out the following link at the Little Rock Police Department YouTube channel:

Amazon Music Presents COLD: The Search for Sheree

Amazon Music Presents COLD: The Search for Sheree

Sheree Warren left her job in Salt Lake City on a mild October evening in 1985. She told a coworker she was headed to meet her estranged husband, Charles Warren, at a car dealership. But she never made it, Sheree vanished. When her car mysteriously surfaced weeks later, hundreds of miles away in Las Vegas, no one could say how it got there.

When a young mother disappears under unexplained circumstances, police always turn suspicious eyes towards the husband. And although there was distrust around Charles Warren, he wasn’t the only suspect when Sheree went missing. She also had a boyfriend, a former cop named Cary Hartmann, who lived a sinister double life.

Season three follows two suspects– men who both raised suspicion for investigators. But with two strong persons of interest with competing facts and evidence, it muddied the murder investigation. This season, host Dave Cawley, digs into the lives of these two men, the details of the case and examines the intersections between domestic abuse and sexual violence. The COLD team seeks to answer the question: what really happened to Sheree Warren?

Family Murders

Apologies - I didn’t know where else to put this, so sorry it’s on the ratings platform. Did you know that the you tube channel sinister side has plagiarised your two part Family Murders word for word? She does mention you in the notes with a link to your podcast but I thought you might like to know. Great episode - I just wish I’d heard it from you first! 😂
