    Bella-issima: An Olympic Mixed Doubles Recap

    The Mixed Doubles tournament at the Olympics has concluded, and history has been made as Swedish siblings Isabella and Rasmus Wranå stand alone atop the podium at the end of a crazy and chaotic week in Cortina. Rasmus becomes the seventh curler to win a second Olympic gold, Sweden becomes the second nation after Canada to win a gold in all three curling disciplines, and Cory Thiesse becomes the first American woman to win a curling medal. And what a final it was, as Bella put up a 97% stat line to carry the Swedes to the gold in a wonderful game of curling. This week also felt like the breakout party for Korey and Cory stateside and we discuss the discourse around Korey's exuberance.  We also take a look at the Bronze Medal game between Italy and Great Britain, and how much it meant for the Italian curlers to win on home soil. And of course, it was a disappointing Olympics on the Mixed Doubles side for Canada, so we give our thoughts on what went wrong and respond to some of the criticism online about Canada's approach and weigh in on where things might have to change moving forward.     Olympic Preview #6: GBR/CAN W & M

    In our final preview of the Olympic curling event that gets underway this week, we bring it to the home front and look at Team Homan and Team Jacobs' chances in Cortina. Brad Jacobs will look to improve on last year's World Bronze and Rachel Homan is searching for her first success at the Olympics. Standing in Team Jacobs' way is World #1 Bruce Mouat, who is the defending World champion and has been the World #1 for almost the entirety of this quadrennial. And as one of the lower-ranked teams in the event, can Rebecca Morrison make her mark or is it one quad too early? We'll take a look at Great Britain's chances on both sides of the sheet, how much it might affect three of these teams to have some of their players involved in the Mixed Doubles event, and what Canada will need to do right to make the podium in Cortina. Plus, since it is our last preview, John and Robbie do the brave thing and make their final predictions for who ends up with the hardware.     Kerri'd Away

    We take a quick break from our Olympic Preview episodes to recap the 2026 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, a tournament with a lot of drama as Kerri Einarson puts a cap on her quad with a fifth Scotties victory on the back of a shot that will go down as one of the sport's best ever. We discuss what it means for Kerri and her team heading into both the Worlds and next season, and we also take a look at which of the Scotties rookies (and there were many!) impressed us the most. Plus, it took Kaitlyn Lawes almost the entire quad but she and her team finally delivered their signature performance with an undefeated run to the finals, coming a Kerri miracle shot away from a victory.     Olympic Preview #4: JPN/SWE W, NOR/SWE M

    We are back to our regularly-scheduled 4-person team previews and this time around, we are covering two of the teams we think are the most intriguing in the field, and they're both from the same country: Sweden. Niklas Edin has had a very bumpy quad but he's the defending Olympic Gold Medallist and he won the Europeans in the fall, so does he still have the juice in what might be his last kick at the can? And on the women's side, it's a similar story. Anna Hasselborg won her first major international tournament in 6 years when she won the Euros, but this year has been tough. She's lost the Swedish Worlds spot to Isabella Wranå and hasn't had great results outside of the Euros. Can she put it together and add a third medal to her trophy case? And of course, Japan has a long history of success on the women's side of this event, and so does Norway on the men's. While neither team is a favourite, will they have the ability to play spoiler?
