Crime Weekly News: Kim Devins Discusses Bianca's Law
Last week on Crime Weekly News we talked about Bianca's Law, a law passed in New York that criminalizes the posting of photographs of victims of a crime on the internet. Bianca Devins was only 17 when she was murdered by a man she met on Instagram who took photos of the scene and spread them online - photos that are still used to harass her friends and family to this day.
This week, we are honored to sit down and speak with Kim Devins, Bianca's mother, about her efforts towards making this a federal law, as well as giving consumers the power to hold social media sites more accountable.
If you'd like to write to your representatives about Bianca's Law, you may use this email template shared by Kim here:

Crime Weekly News: Bianca's Law
On July 14th, 2019, 17 year old Bianca Devins was murdered by 21 year old Brandon Andrew Clark, a man she had met on Instagram and was in some kind of relationship with. After committing the murder, Clark posted a photo of Bianca’s body on social media before slitting his own throat, and posting a picture of that as well. Clark then posted a photo of himself laying over Bianca’s lifeless body. Clark was rushed to the hospital and was later charged with Bianca’s murder, but the photos of her still circulate on the internet, and still haunt her family and friends.

Customer Reviews
Best deep dive crime podcast
Stephanie is an awesome researcher. She really puts in the effort to learn as much as possible about each case. I love her sassiness and story telling. I like to refer to Derrick as the good Boy Scout; always trying to give people the benefit of the doubt or seeing the good in people. I love it when Derrick talks about his old police cases. Gives a perspective into how police officers work or the cool gadgets they have. This dynamite duo have very different personalities which make listening to them quite enjoyable. I love the very long multi episode series. No one deep dives into the research like Stephanie! I follow a number of true crime podcast. Crime weekly is by far the best and most professional! Keep up the great work and congratulations on your success. You deserve it!
Good dynamic. Good cases. Interesting takes.
I would only caution all true crime consumers *regardless of what content you consume* to always double check the basics of any case on your own.
Derrick and Stephanie have different takes on most topics which creates interesting conversations as they go through each case. It also allows the user to explore different perspectives.
The show is rather conversational which might not be ideal if you’re looking for facts only. I like it personally.
Thank you Crime Weekly team.
All the info
Love your in-depth dives, and little known facts about these cases. I really appreciate then long episodes.
