Welcome to Cross Border Interviews, the show where we dive into the insights of municipal political leaders from across Canada. Our mission is to shine a light on the dedicated individuals who, day in and day out, work around the council table to shape the communities we call home.  For today’s episode, we chat with St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Councillor Ophelia Ravencroft St. John's is the perfect combination of big-city luxury and traditional small-town charm. It is one of the oldest and most eastern cities in North America, and has become a rare destination full of character and charisma, with a contemporary, sophisticated edge. Wander down the narrow, criss-crossing streets naturally carved by horse and carriage. Pass the colourful jellybean row houses wedged together, lining the sides of steep hills and hidden alleyways. Once you've meandered down to the harbour, look towards the Narrows and imagine a time when the waters were brimming with fishing schooners. As you explore the city, stroll along some of the oldest streets in the New World, and visit the many shops, boutiques, lively pubs and cafés, and unique art galleries. Perhaps you will make room in your luggage for a reminder of your visit – traditional or modern, our artisans and crafters are always expressing themselves in colourful and exciting ways. ***************************************************  Learn More About Today's Community:  https://www.stjohns.ca/en/index.aspx ***************************************************  Support The Show Today: https://www.crossborderinterviews.ca/support-the-show Join The Show: https://www.crossborderinterviews.ca/be-part-of-the-show  *************************************************** Listen To The Show:  Apple: https://apple.co/3XwwXIv Spotify: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/cross-border-interviews Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/crossborderinterviewswithchrisbrown *************************************************** Follow Us On Social Media:  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/crossborderpodcast/ Threads: https://www.threads.net/@crossborderpodcast  Blusky: https://bsky.app/profile/crossbordernetwork.bsky.social Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CrossBorderInterviews/ Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/company/crossborderinterviews/  Website: https://www.crossborderinterviews.ca/ Cross Border Interview is Part of the Cross Border Network © 2025
