Which night creams will make you look well-rested, is quitting coffee really worth the headache, can emptying your closet actually bring you joy, and wtf is a gratitude practice, anyway? These are the kinds of self-care questions that wellness enthusiasts and writers Kate Spencer and Doree Shafrir discuss each week, along with a special guest, as they explore what it means to be getting older — and hopefully wiser.

Episode 300: Feeling Like Yourself at 40 with Franchesca Ramsey
Doree has another great en-Doree-sment of a nail product and Kate is stoked to try it. Then, they talk with multi-hyphenate Franchesca Ramsey (you might know her as @Chescaleigh) about the beauty of a good foot rub, the social media app you shouldn’t sleep on, the way her online presence has changed over the years, and feeling the most like herself at forty.

This is the tale of a family business becoming the fast food in fashion, and of provocative and very shocking ads. This is Benetton! Doree details to Kate the rise of the Benetton rugby shirt, how the brand became ubiquitous in the 80’s, and the Italian infrastructure their money is in today.

Customer Reviews
Pandemic Emotional Survival
Currently listening to the pod (while I meal
prep as self care) and finally had to leave a review! It’s hard to explain how much Forever35 means to me, while nothing quite replaces casual friend hang convos the pod comes close. It’s almost eerie how often Kate and Dory’s conversations mirror my internal monologue/text convos with friends. Do yourself a favour and listen!!
Over consumption & privilege
I loved this podcast so much for years. I followed Doree and Kate both separately and the pod was such a great expansion in the early years, but for the last 2 years it has turned into a completely frustrating space where over-consumption and consumerism are in the forefront. Where there used to be much more meaningful conversations about their lives and lived experiences and self care as a whole, it has now turned into product-central. With the deinfluencing trend gaining traction (aka. showing people how they don’t need to buy all the trendy/expensive/new things to make them happy), Doree and Kate just seem more and more out-of-touch and unrelatable by the day. The recent move to Patreon, further commodifying their community and making things “exclusive”, is just another demonstration of this. It’s deeply disappointing.
Promising, but actually empty and annoying
I tried to like this podcast. However, after several tries I am still left feeling I've learned nothing, processed nothing, related to nothing. And they have this verbal tic of smacking the inside of cheeks when they start speaking, which gets on my last nerve.
