I just finished the episode on critical race theory. It is my first experience with this podcast, and will be my last. I think the intention of the episode was to give practical advice for conversing with people on the “right”, and hopefully no one follows his advice. The picture painted of the “right wingers” is a cartoon placing anyone who disagrees with critical race theory as someone who “doesn’t care about evidence” and is a “conspiracy theorist” akin to a flat earther. There is zero charity in representing the right’s opinions and psychology. The narcissism needed to assume that the only reason one could disagree with CRT is that they are white supremest conspiracy theorists is staggering. The podcast is consistently blind to its own hypocrisy, for example, in claiming that the right is uncharitable to the left’s ideology.
The podcast will be very useful if you find yourself in a debate with a gun-toting, racist, Yosemite Sam. However, if you actually intend to have a meaningful conversation with someone who disagrees with you, you may want to skip this one.
