Life After MLM

May 19th If your bonus is paid out slowly, it’s not a bonus. It’s a temporary raise. (Previously) I cringed when I heard about switching to Temu shopping to save money. The problem is searching for happiness/success in rampant overconsumption. Stop buying, buying, buying. Don’t sell, sell, sell. You don’t need it so much. Be happy with enough. The environmental damage for making $18 dress is the same as that dress priced at $80. The same deforestation, pesticides, water diversion, worker exploitation, and carbon emissions. The only reduced harm in shopping Temu instead of an MLM is avoiding the moral harm to yourself and your F&F. If you spend your Temu savings on more excess consumption it would actually be worse for the environment (and all the people on Earth). Please stress this in future podcasts. People who are satisfied with enough are less likely to fall for MLMs in the first place.

Very interesting content but sometimes difficult to listen to when Roberta won’t let the guests speak — sometimes the guests can’t get a word in edgeways.
