Maritime lolo

This show used to be great and one of my faves. It even occasionally lived up to the name and was a debate, a lost art that is now so rare. But sadly it has turned into a vanity project for Ravi. All about Ravi. I know more about his cooking school and travels in italy than anything else. I gave 2 stars because there is an occasional good episode, but, “everything i know about health and fitness”, for example, that’s a skip. Never thought id say this but bring back rikki. At least it was a debate.

As a Canadian listener, many of the topics covered in this show point out just how different our systems and policies are - politics, education, healthcare, etc. It’s nice to hear from informed and relatively level headed hosts and guests, usually without significantly bias lens and/or objectives. What we consume in the media is so often telling the perspectives that are from one side or the other. That said, the show has drifted a bit over the past 12 months from a format that contains discussions with debate to more interviews and information. I miss hearing informed and civilized debate - please don’t lose that initial fundamental element of this pod!

I unfollowed this show after listening to the most recent recent episode on Ravi’s “MAGA father”. The contempt and arrogance was palpable, and it struck me that some on the left of the political spectrum are completely blind to the humanity of what they would consider to be “right wing” individuals, even referring to them as being members of some sort of “cult“. The bias was stunning, and my only advice would be to get more toward the middle.
