The Ripper Myth from Bad Women

The Ripper Myth from Bad Women

Presenting a sneak peek of Pushkin's new podcast, Bad Women: The Ripper Retold. In 1888, five female prostitutes were brutally murdered in a London slum-- attacks so violent the killer earned a nickname: Jack the Ripper. For centuries, we have assumed these women were indeed “Bad Women,” ...but what if everything we know about them is wrong? Historian Hallie Rubenhold has uncovered the true stories of the Ripper’s victims. They all struggled against the misogyny that thrived in Victorian England, until they found themselves in the path of one of the most vicious killers in history. Bad Women is a must-listen, rich in historical detail and suspenseful enough to satisfy any true crime fan.

Captivating story but the ads are too loud

The podcast itself totally deserves 5 stars and Dana knows how to tell a good story. But those ads, Oh man, they are too loud and sudden, completely changed the vibes and kinda ruined the feeling. Hopefully next season will be different. Would love to continue to listen. Overall highly recommend!

Mixed feelings

Great host great story but there’s wayyyyy to much with this obnoxious Cece woman. She’s disgusting.

Tabloid-ish

Found the “investigative reporting” a bit tabloid-ish. I think this crux of this story could have been better edited and then told in a couple episodes versus stretched into an entire season.
