What an 83-Year-Old's Daily Habits Reveal About Aging with Michael Dorfman

What an 83-Year-Old's Daily Habits Reveal About Aging   Most people assume chronic disease is just a normal part of getting older. Michael Dorfman, an 83 year old health and nutrition coach, has spent the last 18 years proving otherwise, and he's still playing competitive pickleball to show for it. If you've ever wondered whether it's too late to change your trajectory, or whether the version of aging you've been told to expect is the only one available, this episode will reframe the question entirely.   In This Episode: Why chronic disease usually starts decades before it's diagnosed, not the year it shows up The friend's heart disease reversal that changed the direction of Michael's life and work Why doctors are trained for sick care, not health care, and what that means for your decisions What the Blue Zones research actually found in common across five unrelated places on earth Why fiber, not protein, is the real deficiency in most people's diets The daily practices Michael uses now: breathwork, intermittent fasting, cold and hot therapy, and movement over formal exercise What changed when Michael stopped judging his father, and what that taught him about everyone else   Key Insights: The body keeps a record long before symptoms appear. Type 2 diabetes in children and colon cancer in men under 50 are signs the timeline has shifted, not random bad luck. A surgeon's job is surgery. Lifestyle medicine is rarely part of the training, which means the responsibility for prevention sits with you, not your doctor. The Blue Zones populations didn't exercise in the way we think of it. Their environments simply required constant, ordinary movement. Letting go of judgment, of a parent, a stranger, a different point of view, was one of the latest and most valuable lessons of Michael's life.   About Michael Dorfman: Michael J. Dorfman is an 83-year-old certified Health & Nutrition Life Coach, investigative author, and thriving example of plant-based longevity. Based in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, he has spent the last 17+ years living—and coaching—on how to age vibrantly without chronic disease. Michael adopted a vegetarian diet in 1976, transitioned to a whole-food, plant-based lifestyle in 2008, and earned his certification in Plant-Based Nutrition in 2019. His book, The Thriving Vegan, exposes how the food and pharmaceutical industries mislead the public—and how individuals can reclaim their health. In his latest book, The Longevity Wellness Revolution, Michael shares practical tools from the Blue Zones, as well as his discoveries, including breathwork, intermittent fasting, stress reduction, and more. He's passionate about showing that it's never too late to live with energy, purpose, and joy.   Links: Website: https://longevitywellnessrevolution.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/michael.dorfman.353/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thrivingvegan1/ X: https://x.com/readmide Substack: https://substack.com/mike82   Watch the full episode on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@richersoul Richer Soul Life Beyond Money. Why Your Business Won't Let You Go - Letting Others Take Ownership with Jason Henneberry

Why Your Business Won't Let You Go - Letting Others Take Ownership   You have hired good people. You have tried to step back. And yet, every time something important goes sideways, it still lands on your desk. Jason Henneberry says that is not a people problem or a systems problem. It is a dependency problem, and it has a specific structural cause. Jason is the founder of Dependency Design, a senior partner in a national Canadian mortgage brokerage with more than 600 professionals, and the author of "Why Your Business Won't Let You Go," which you can download free at dependencydesign.com. He built and sold a technology product to Rocket Mortgage, nearly went bankrupt in 2008 after committing a full consumer marketing budget into a market that was about to collapse, and has started from scratch at least twice. He knows what the trap looks like from the inside.   In This Episode: Why handing over a task and handing over accountability are two completely different acts The moment you step in to fix something, what you actually teach your business The blast radius principle: how to let your team fail safely and build real ownership Jason's three C's framework: Clarity, Capacity, and Commitment How to design compensation so salespeople, administrators, and leaders each care about what they actually control Why launching a new product line before your core is stable is a structural trap, not just a strategic mistake What Jason learned from losing nearly everything in 2008   Key Insights: Every time you rescue your team from a problem, you teach the entire business that you are the solution. The rescue and the trap are the same act. Real delegation means handing over the outcome, not just the task, including the outcome of failure. Before branching into anything new, ask honestly: could I generate the same return by doing five to ten percent more of what I am already good at? Compensation alignment is structural. Sales on revenue, administration on task fulfillment, and leadership on gross profit creates a team where everyone cares about what they control. Starting over with hard-won knowledge is not losing. It is compounding.   About Jason Henneberry: Jason Henneberry is the founder of Dependency Design and the author of Why Your Business Won't Let You Go. He has built and operated multiple successful companies, serves as a senior partner in a national brokerage with more than 600 professionals, and has spent 30 years leading founder-driven organizations. Jason works with producing team leads, small business owners, and operators who feel the weight of growth but cannot clearly see where it's coming from.  His work challenges the common advice to simply delegate more, work harder, or install better systems. Instead, Jason helps leaders see where responsibility has quietly settled inside their organization. Through his structural lens, founders learn to distinguish between chosen dependency and accidental dependency, reduce invisible fragility, and build businesses that grow without getting heavier. His approach is observational, practical, and grounded in real operational experience, not motivation or hustle culture.   Links: Website: https://dependencydesign.com/    LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jasonhenneberry/    Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jasonhenneberry/    YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JasonHenneberry      Watch the full episode on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@richersoul Richer Soul Life Beyond Money. Why Your Best People Want You to Leave Them Alone with Nathan Jamail

Why Your Best People Want You to Leave Them Alone   There is a pattern Nathan Jamail has seen across hundreds of organizations, in every industry, at every level. Ask employees what their professional goal is, and most will eventually tell you: to be so good their boss leaves them alone. That is not apathy. That is a signal about how leadership is being experienced. In this episode, Nathan and Rocky go deep on why coaching cultures fail not because leaders lack intention, but because they spend their attention on exactly the wrong people.   In This Episode: Why 90% of employees at every level aim to be left alone by their manager, and what that reveals about leadership The distinction between coaching those who need attention and those who deserve it Why the leader in the middle is the most powerful and most overlooked force in any organization How AI will eliminate the leader who manages through process and amplify the one who leads through genuine connection Why promoting the best salesperson into management is often the most costly mistake a company makes What "serve up, coach down" actually requires at every layer of an organization Why accountability and mandating behavior are acts of belief, not control   Key Insights: Leaders default to spending time with struggling employees while leaving high performers alone. The consequence: high performers learn that good performance means less coaching, and they plateau. The goal is not buy-in. Buy-in is compliance. The goal is belief, and belief is built through alignment from the very top down. AI will not replace the leader. It will replace the manager who adds no human value. Connection, trust, and accountability cannot be automated. The leader in the middle (the director, the senior manager) holds more organizational power than anyone above or below them. They make or break alignment. Accountability is not control. It is the highest form of belief in another person's capacity.   About Nathan Jamail: Nathan Jamail is a record-setting performer, CEO, Adjunct Professor in the MBA program at SMU's Cox School of Business, where he has earned more than 18 Teacher Excellence Awards, and a bestselling author of leadership and sales books. During his tenure as an Executive Director at a Fortune 100 company, Nathan built and led seven #1 producing teams across five states and Puerto Rico. He has also built, scaled, and sold multiple small businesses, bringing real-world corporate and entrepreneurial leadership experience to everything he teaches. For more than two decades, Nathan has coached and developed leaders on three continents and thousands around the world. His leadership principles now serve as the backbone for organizations across manufacturing, finance, technology, communications, hospitality, and more. In a business climate shaped by AI acceleration and constant disruption, Nathan helps organizations leverage technology without losing their human edge, building teams that win through clarity, discipline, accountability, and trust.   Links: www.NathanJamail.com Email: info@nathanjamail.com LinkedIn: @nathanjamail https://www.linkedin.com/in/nathanjamail/ Facebook: @jdgroup https://www.facebook.com/jdgroup Instagram: @nathan_jamail https://www.instagram.com/nathan_jamail   Watch the full episode on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@richersoul Richer Soul Life Beyond Money. Why High Achievers Hit Invisible Ceilings with Paul Salter

Why High Achievers Hit Invisible Ceilings For five consecutive years, Paul Salter ran a successful coaching business, worked more each year, and landed within $10,000 of the same annual income. The ceiling was real, but it was invisible. It was not his pricing, his marketing, or his effort. It was a belief he had formed as a teenager watching his father fill out a college financial aid form, a belief that said outearning his parents was disrespectful. Once he found it, he was able to move past it. This episode is about how to find the ones you have not found yet. Why this conversation matters now: If you have a nagging sense that your effort and your results no longer match, this episode names the most likely reason, and it is not what most coaches will tell you.   In This Episode: Why ambition becomes kryptonite when it is calibrated to stress rather than to growth The four core beliefs that govern every decision a high achiever makes, and why most people have a deficiency in at least one How the subconscious protects identity by sabotaging the very success it appears to be chasing Why 95% of core beliefs are formed before age seven, and what that means for adults trying to change behavior The nonprofit CEO who was dissociating in boardrooms without knowing why, and what shifted for her The calendar and checkbook test: the fastest way to see the gap between what someone says they value and how they actually spend Why community and accountability are not soft add-ons but biological necessities for anyone trying to change an ingrained pattern   Key Insights: The income ceiling most entrepreneurs hit is not a market problem. It is often an unconscious loyalty to a family story about what is safe to earn. Chronic stress becomes invisible when it is all you have known. The body is still tracking it, even when the mind has normalized it. The shift from unconscious reaction to conscious response is not a mindset reframe. It is a physiological reset that takes real work and real time. Emotion, in Paul's framing, is energy in motion. When a buried belief surfaces in session, the body does not lie. Neither does the release that follows. What your calendar and your bank account reveal about your actual priorities is more honest than any intention you have stated aloud.   About Paul Salter: Paul Salter is a high-performance hypnotherapist, mindset and performance coach, keynote speaker, author, and host of The Unstuck High Performer Podcast. With over 16 years of coaching experience and nearly 4,000 clients served, Paul helps high-performers—especially entrepreneurs, executives, and athletes—unlearn the destructive patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that limit their potential. He specializes in working with individuals who know what to do but struggle to execute consistently, particularly when pressure is high and the stakes matter most.  His approach blends hypnosis, neuroscience, performance psychology, and real-world coaching to create lasting, identity-level change—the deep work most people avoid until they realize it's the only path to sustainable, next-level success.  Paul's clients include CEOs, C-suite executives, entrepreneurs, professional athletes, and professional poker players. He also has a strong focus and passion for working with golfers and professionals in the real estate space.  Paul believes that when someone knows what to do but consistently fails to follow through, the issue is not a lack of knowledge—it's a mindset problem. He helps clients get unstuck, eliminate self-sabotage, and perform to their highest potential.   Links: Instagram: @thepaulsalter Coaching: https://form.typeform.com/to/IxSaVpmF?typeform-source=qsisso5alne.typeform.com   Watch the full episode on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@richersoul Richer Soul Life Beyond Money. The Wealth Nobody Sees: Why Frugal Always Beats Flashy with Earl Yaokasin

The Wealth Nobody Sees: Why Frugal Always Beats Flashy   For years, Earl Yaokasin drove a 20-year-old Honda Civic to his kids' private school and parked it as far from the entrance as possible. He did not want anyone to see the car. The lot was full of Bentleys. He felt the embarrassment. Then he started talking to those families. Most had almost no savings. Some were on scholarship. The image of wealth and the reality of wealth were completely different balance sheets. Earl, who had been eating half a $5 Subway footlong for lunch since his first years in America, was the one with money. The wealth nobody sees is usually the wealth that is actually there. This episode traces what real wealth building looks like: the frugality that does not feel like deprivation because it is intentional, the investing discipline that compounds because it is patient, and the economic conditions quietly forming right now that most people are not prepared for.   In This Episode: Why spending two levels below your means is a compounding strategy, not a sacrifice, and how it starts from the first grade The real cost of confusing frugal with cheap, and which one actually costs more money over a decade What Earl discovered when he stopped hiding his Civic and finally talked to the Bentley families Why most financial advisors are quietly in debt, and the one question that screens them out immediately The K-shaped economy: who benefits from current conditions and who is being quietly squeezed Why the 2022 inflation spike may have been wave one of three, based on a century of historical patterns How Earl's daughters absorbed financial discipline through behavior observed at home, not through lectures   Key Insights: A Morningstar study cited by Earl shows fewer than half of fund managers globally have even one dollar of their own money in the funds they manage. Ask your advisor if they invest in what they recommend. The answer narrows the field quickly. GDP last year would have approached zero percent if AI spending were removed from the calculation. The headline number is a mirage for most of the economy. The US government spent 6.5% more than it earned as a percentage of GDP in 2024, at levels seen historically only during the financial crisis and COVID. That is either preventing a recession or inflating a larger one. Kids learn financial behavior through observation, not instruction. Earl's daughters skip luxury goods not because they were told to, but because they have never watched their parents buy them. Great companies can surprise you to the upside in ways you will not predict. Earl's most expensive investing mistake was selling good companies because the price had risen past what he thought was fair value.   About Earl Yaokasin: Earl Yaokasin, CFA, is the founder of WealthArch Investment Services in Pasadena, CA, where he helps high-net-worth individuals and couples build wealth through value investing and personalized financial planning. With more than two decades of hands-on experience and a prestigious CFA designation, Earl blends the timeless principles of Warren Buffett with modern behavioral finance to help clients achieve financial independence. He invests his personal portfolio in exactly the same assets as his clients—reinforcing full alignment and transparency.   Earl takes pride in offering advice free of commissions, sales quotas, or gimmicks. His firm is 100% fiduciary, and his focus is on long-term results, not short-term hype. Through education, clear planning, and thoughtful market navigation, Earl empowers his clients to avoid common financial traps, stay on course during turbulent times, and reach their goals with clarity and confidence.   Links: https://mywealtharch.com/richersoul/ Website: https://mywealtharch.com/   LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/earl-jordan-yaokasin-cfa-7350ab4b/   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/earljordan.yaokasin   YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@WealthArchInvestmentServices   X: https://x.com/Earl_Jordan   Watch the full episode on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@richersoul Richer Soul Life Beyond Money. The Changed Mind: From Broken Start to Built Legacy with Jonathan Berryhill

The Changed Mind: From Broken Start to Built Legacy   At 15, Jonathan Berryhill had no stable home. By his late twenties he had a military career, a law enforcement career, a college degree he earned as a walk-on linebacker at 25, three kids, and a marriage he was quietly destroying. The moment he saw what he was doing, he made a phone call that split his life in two. This is not a story about hustle or habits or morning routines. It is a story about what happens when a person decides, with no return clause, to stop being who they have been.   In this episode: Why Jonathan nearly lost his marriage in his twenties, and what the phone call that saved it actually cost him How military infantry training built the discipline framework he still uses in business and fatherhood Why comfort is the primary enemy of change, and what it takes to get uncomfortable enough to move The compound math of starting today versus starting Monday, and the specific dollar cost of a three-day delay What "Warrior to Wealth" actually means, and why it has almost nothing to do with a bank account How homeschooling six children became the foundation for three generations now working together on a 200-acre farm His five pillars: identity, discipline, financial stability, time freedom, and standards, and why identity has to come first   Key insights: Identity precedes every lasting change. Jonathan did not fix his finances or his marriage first. He decided who he would no longer be. Everything else followed. Intentionality is not a time-management system. Thirty deliberate minutes with the people you love produce more than twelve hours of physical presence. Comfort is not a rest stop. It is a destination that forecloses every other destination. The people around you today are shaping the person you are becoming. If you would not introduce your current circle to the version of yourself you are working toward, that is information worth acting on. Compounding is invisible in both directions until the gap becomes irreversible.   About Jonathan Berryhill: Jonathan Berryhill is a former U.S. Army Infantry Sergeant, law enforcement officer, and entrepreneur who built multiple 7- and 8-figure businesses — but only after confronting the one thing that was quietly holding him back: his identity.  He didn't grow up with stability. By 15, he was on his own, navigating life without a foundation. He found structure in the military, adrenaline in law enforcement, and success in business — but nearly lost his marriage in the process. That moment changed everything.  Jonathan rebuilt his life through faith, discipline, and personal responsibility — not just fixing his marriage, but redefining who he was as a man, a leader, and a father. From there, he went on to build businesses across real estate, healthcare, and government contracting — with his current focus in real estate, where he went from new agent at 43 to building three brokerages, recruiting 50+ agents, and generating seven figures in commissions in just five years.  Today, as the author of Warrior to Wealth, Jonathan speaks to men and entrepreneurs who feel stuck between where they came from and where they know they're meant to go — helping them stop drifting, take ownership, and build a life that actually lasts.    Links: Website: https://jonberryhill.com/   Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jon.berryhill   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jonhannah.berryhill     Watch the full episode on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@richersoul Richer Soul Life Beyond Money. The Root Cause Most Doctors Never Look For with Dr. Yi Song

The Root Cause Most Doctors Never Look For with Dr. Yi Song   You have been through the tests. You have the results. You have the prescription. And something still feels unresolved, because the system you went through was built to find what is broken in one place, not to read the whole picture. Dr. Yi Song has practiced at the intersection of traditional Chinese medicine, Western pathology, and regenerative therapy for 25 years. Her argument is not that modern medicine is wrong. It is that it stops too soon, and that the philosophy behind Chinese medicine was already asking the right questions 6,000 years ago.   In This Episode: Why Chinese medicine reads pulse, tongue, complexion, voice, and personal history together, and why that picture is more complete than isolated biomarkers alone The six principles of lasting health from Dr. Song's forthcoming book: body constitution, early prevention, root cause diagnosis, tending the body like a garden, natural rhythm, and combining modalities designed for your specific constitution What stem cell therapy actually does, and what it cannot do. Dr. Song has administered stem cells to herself more than 30 times over five years and still pairs them with red light therapy, infrared sauna, and targeted Chinese medicine How long-term stress silently degrades the digestive system over years, and why treating the downstream symptom without addressing the upstream cause almost never holds The Taoist root of mental wellness: the actual source of unhappiness is comparison, not a lack of meditation practice Why your prenatal constitution cannot be eliminated, only understood and managed   Key Insights: Your reference range is not your range. Western benchmarks are population averages. What is normal for your body may look abnormal for someone else's, and vice versa. A symptom is almost always downstream of something upstream. Treating the symptom while the root stays intact is like watering the wilting plant while the irrigation line stays blocked. Stem cells are a jump-starter, not a cure. Their value multiplies when combined with modalities matched to the individual's constitution, not a generic longevity stack. The meaning of life lives in the process. Not the destination, not the outcome, and not how your outcome compares to anyone else's.   About Dr. Yi Song: Dr. Yi Song, raised in Beijing in a 17-generation medical family, trained in Pathology at Brown University before focusing on regenerative and holistic healing. She has operated a holistic clinic in Boston since 2004 and founded the Zenerchi Retreat in Colombia in 2018, where she offers advanced stem cell therapies. Integrating stem cell therapy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and anti-aging treatments, Dr. Song aims to help people live longer, healthier lives.   Links: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/dr.yi.song.stemcellexperts https://www.facebook.com/regenerationeffect/  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/dr-yi-song/  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/regenerationeffect/  X: https://x.com/regenerationFx  YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@regenerationeffect   Watch the full episode on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@richersoul Richer Soul Life Beyond Money. The Library That Dies With Every Person with Miles Spencer

The Library That Dies With Every Person with Miles Spencer   There is a Kenyan saying that Miles Spencer dropped into the middle of this conversation without warning — the kind that stays with you after the recording ends. When a person passes away, an entire library burns to the ground. If you have ever stood at a funeral wishing you had asked one more question, this episode was made for that moment. Miles Spencer is a three-exit entrepreneur who has caught three technology megatrends in his career: dot-com, mobile, and now AI. But his most personal work is Reflekta.ai, a platform carrying more than 20,000 family stories that lets people have spontaneous, dynamic conversations with loved ones who have passed. His sister, using the platform, walked step-by-step through an elderberry pie recipe in a live conversation with their mother Nancy — 25 years after Nancy died.   In This Episode: Why Wall Street lifestyle debt traps smart people for 15 years and what it costs them beyond money — Rocky called it "the golden jail cell" How Miles's father's voice was reconstructed from a 10-second voicemail found on his granddaughter's phone, five years after his death, and why that voice became the only one Miles will hear for the rest of his life What AI actually is — electricity, not a product — and why the stories only you hold are the one asset AI cannot manufacture Why Reflekta deliberately withholds full-motion video: "We are reconnecting with a reflection of the person. We are not bringing people back to life." How to reach the 80% ready score that enables a real conversation, and what it means when people stall at 78% and can't bring themselves to cross the threshold The AI4 Las Vegas presentation where the audience went silent, then began crying — and Tesla filed a complaint because Reflekta's booth was overflowing into their space   Key Insights: Curiosity named late is still curiosity. Miles did not call himself "the curious kid from Pittsburgh" until much later in life. The thread was there the whole time. Not naming your core gift does not diminish its effect. Low expectations may be underrated. The steady, compounding life that nobody photographs or glorifies is also the life that does not crash from irrelevance. The currency of the future is the story no one else can tell. AI flattens accounting, legal, and marketing overhead. It cannot replicate what only your family witnessed. Lifestyle debt is a freedom problem wearing the clothes of a financial one. The moment you buy the house and enroll the kids in private school, you have chosen the shape of your next 15 years. "Learn to learn" is the one skill that survives any economic shift. Whatever markets look like today, they look different in six months.   About Miles Spencer: Miles Spencer is CEO and a founder of Reflekta.ai, a Soul Tech company that turns family stories into spontaneous, dynamic digital connections. A three exit entrepreneur, investor, and storyteller, he is also the author of A Line in the Sand, Havana Famiglia and former co-host of PBS's MoneyHunt.   Links: Website: https://reflekta.ai/  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/milesspencer/     Watch the full episode on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@richersoul Richer Soul Life Beyond Money.
