2016 Blue Jays: Wild-Card vs Baltimore (Pt. 4)

2016 Blue Jays: Wild-Card vs Baltimore (Pt. 4)

The fall of 2016 was a time when all were wondering who the Blue Jays were and what exactly they could do. The previous year had brought the city to a high that hadn't been witnessed since 1993, but this was a new year and a team that had undergone much change. It took the Jays until game 162 to earn their Wild Card slot and the only thing standing in the way of a second straight divisional series appearance was the Baltimore Orioles. In this exclusive Patreon series we examine a Wild Card game that had equal parts excitement, anxiety and drama.

And in part four the Blue Jays go one to win the World Series.... right? One can only dream. Jake and Zubes wrap up the 2016 post-season and look at what happened to that 2016 team that gave us all so much joy. An even mix of distance from the past and optimism for the future, hopes for the 2020 roster start to leak out.

The smartest podcast I know

These guys are so smart about sports, especially the in depth expert hockey, Basketball and baseball analysis. They see beyond the stats and get to the core of sports fandom - obsessing over the transactions. That’s right, baby.

Use to be good but..

I really liked this show when it was first launched. I don't know anymore with this. It almost feels like it's become Jays Talk when they use to take calls. Extremely negative podcast and way too hot take like.

Nah

This is poorly researched (if at all), poorly produced/edited (why are all the episodes over an hour?) and honestly offers and adds nothing to sports or much of anything else. Just two straight white middle-class husbands who believe their POV is worth talking about every week. I tried listening a few times but the last straw was when they admitted they didn’t even watch the Raptors pre-season games. There are like 3 games, and you’re home 95% of the time. Seems like the least you could’ve done if you call yourself a sports podcast. There are a hundred better ones out there, and so many other people who deserve a chance. Bye!
