Wonderful exploration of song!
I just discovered this podcast today (thanks to the shoutout on Rational Security!), discovered an episode about my favourite song, and immediately listened to it. I have never before had the singular experience of someone explaining to me why I love a thing I love! It is so fascinating to hear how the alchemy of a beautiful song comes together. I’m not a musician, so some of the minutia goes over my head, but it’s still thoroughly enjoyable. Can’t wait to listen to more!
So worth your time!
Kirk cuts these songs apart, provides backgrounds and sidebars and often actually recreates them in his own studio. For me it’s just the right mix of pop culture background and music nerdiness that I like. He has a wealth of music knowledge and as an aspiring musician, I learn a few things on every show and listen to music more thoughtfully as a result. A++ podcast!
Not to be missed if you are a music lover
I was looking for a podcast on Pink Floyd before going to see the exhibition "Pink Floyd l'Exposition: Their Mortal Remains" here in Montreal. While researching, I listened to the episode on the Dark Side Of The Moon album. Since then, I started listening to all the episodes. It's really interesting! Merci Kirk!
