Talking Simpsons - 'Scuse Me While I Miss the Sky
It's time for another Lisa-centric episode that speaks to all of the gifted kids who grew into confused adults. A documentarian played by Eric Idle shatters Lisa and Bart's sense of self, leading Lisa to battle light pollution (something your hosts never heard of before this 2003 ep). Listen for a podcast dissertation on that plus the Up series, Python troupe rivalries, songs about Vincent Van Gogh, and much more!

In an episode full of movie references, we happily welcome back Andrew Jupin from the We Hate Movies podcast! Written under slight protest by the brilliant Jon Vitti, Bart gets revenge on Homer by teaming up with a man who was once Tom Cruise. All that plus addiction to Corey and a massive brawl all over town. We promise, this podcast is LESS painful than it looks!

Customer Reviews
Talking Simpsons is great.
To people complaining that the show is political and far-left let me state that I fart in your general direction. They are progressive and in no way extreme. Their knowledge of the content is amazing. I like that they describe rapidly what was going on when the show aired as it is like I was there again since I’m becoming old and listened to the Simpsons since 1990.
Creepy Toxic Hosts
Bob Mackey is a bully who hides behind righteous causes as justification for his bad behaviour. Henry Gilbert follows him like a lapdog out of an insecure need for approval from an abusive distant father figure. Dysfunctional and toxic all the way around.
I was saying "Boo-urns"
I appreciate the hosts doing an elaborate meta piece of satire on The Simpsons, by mirroring the show with a podcast that also goes on for way too long and takes a complete dive in quality.
This show used to be great, but they've gone all David Chen on the Filmcast, where they do nothing but criticize to the point you wonder why they are doing a show on a topic they hate so much.
I always think shows like this need to do some freeform episodes where the hosts just chat about their lives and opinions, so that they can look at the download numbers and finally realize we aren't listening because we primarily care about them. We care about the topic they are covering. Get over yourselves. I've listened for may many years and I still don't remember your names. And if I, by some wild fluke, did remember their names, I certainly wouldn't know which voice goes with which name.
It's so sad, too. Because, like The Simpsons, this show used to be great and fun and funny. It made my day better to listen to an episode while struggling through my life. Not anymore.
I swear these 2 go through episodes (good episodes!) with a microscope and a pair of tweezers so they can pick out the smallest possible flaws and then smugly whine about them endlessly.
They do know their Simpsons history tho!
Smell ya later!
