    Ross Cantwell & Neil Lovitt

    On this instalment of the IPOANS podcast we have the pleasure of hosting two distinguished guests, Ross Cantwell & Neil Lovitt, to facilitate our conversation and offer invaluable market rental insights. Ross Cantwell brings over two decades of experience, having worked as a real estate and valuation consultant. As the President of HRM Apartments, he has spearheaded the assembly and construction of a remarkable portfolio featuring over 500 apartment units. Ross is also the Volunteer President of the Housing Trust of Nova Scotia, a significant non-profit owning 300 units of workforce housing and actively involved in $50 million worth of construction projects. Neil is also the Chair of the Board for the Affordable Housing Association of Nova Scotia, a key player in the non-profit housing sector and coordinator of federal homelessness reduction and prevention funding. In 2017, Mike was the Chief Innovation Fellow for the Government of Canada, advising Deputy Ministers on innovation policy and emerging trends.     Bob Mussett and Krissy Fry

Bob was one of the founding brokers of CBRE Atlantic in 2002 and now sits as an Executive Vice President and leads the National Investment Team and the National Apartment Group for Atlantic Canada. With over 30+ years of experience and transactional accomplishments, Bob provides unique insight into the Atlantic Canadian real estate market and its trends. Krissy Fry is the Vice President, Debt & Structured Finance and the National CMHC Program Lead with CBRE Capital (Canada) Inc. Krissy specializes in advising clients on structuring CMHC insured finance solutions such as construction, take out and refinance.  She does this by leveraging her in-depth knowledge of the CMHC affordable and market programs acquired through the various senior management positions she held with CMHC from 2006 to 2018.     Ruth Buckle & Issmat Al-Akhali

    On today’s episode, we have the honour of speaking to not one, but two influential people from the housing industry, Ruth Buckle & Issmat Al-Akhali. A staple in her community, Ruth is the Senior Vice President Property Management at Killam Apartment REIT and oversees Killam’s 19,000+ apartment suites, 5900 land lease sites and commercial portfolios extending across seven provinces. Alongside Ruth, we have Issmat, an immigrant entrepreneur based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Arriving from his home country of Yemen in 1999, Issmat is now the Owner & Operator of Halifax based Black Sheep Project Management Inc., Granville Student Hall Residence and the Cameo Hotel and Suites.
