Poor format

These essays are written for print, not voice. That, combined with the wooden, rapid delivery of voice actors, turn the vibrant thoughts of great thinkers into a dull drone.

Every time I retry this podcast, I subconsciously stop paying attention almost immediately.

Either get your writers to adapt the pieces into script writing, or have the original essayist read it. Both, if you want to make a great show. Otherwise the endeavour is a waste of time.

I suggest the example of Michael Enright’s spoken word essays as a starting point.
