Troubled Waters is the pop culture quiz show where comedians disagree to disagree. Twice a month, Dave will stoke pointless arguments between two teams of comedians and make them compete against each other in order to settle their meaningless debates once and for all. Winner takes home the right to be right.

International Waters - worth a listen; Troubled Waters - worth a miss
The original “International Waters” podcast was stellar. The new incarnation, “Troubled Waters”, much less so, so the stars are all for the past episodes, with one dropped for the current state of the show, since I can’t rate them separately.
Definitely download and enjoy all the past IW episodes, there’s something like 7 years of fantastic US-UK humour to enjoy. In nearly every episode both sides play of each other well and the host carries things along admirably. But the current TW version is quite missable.
Those Terrible Ads...
As part of the MaxFun network this podcast does cross promotional ads with other podcasts on the network. The ad Troubled Waters plays is so sonically unpleasant I have developed a Pavlovian response to plug my ears and flee whenever I hear a pirate or an off board motor. Troubled Waters, your ad is torturously unpleasant to my ears; loud, grating, and poorly written. Please change it so you’re not putting a sour note in every podcast you advertise on.
Not as good anymore.
I loved international waters, but troubled waters has lost most of the comedy. The show has become talking about current events and not about being funny. Also, it’s hella annoying to listen to in the car because Dave’s voice fluctuates so dramatically throughout even his sentences. Will still be listening in case it gets better when they’re back in their groove, but for now it will be passive listening.
