The phone hacking scandal that closed News of the World was big, but that was just the tip of the iceberg. At the bottom of that iceberg of 'dark arts' - hacking, burglary, bugging, and bribing bent cops - is the body of Daniel Morgan. It’s been described by an Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police as “one of the most disgraceful episodes in the entire history of the Metropolitan Police Service.” Over the three decades since Daniel was killed, five failed police investigations and an ongoing panel inquiry, his has become the most investigated murder in British history. The story moves from back streets of London, through the highest echelons of Scotland Yard, to the offices of Rupert Murdoch's best selling newspapers, to the doors of Number Ten Downing Street. If you haven't heard this story, ask yourself, why?

Really good!

I listen to a lot of True Crime Podcasts....this one is superior.

Incredible and unbelievable story..!

This was one of the first true crime podcasts I had listened to. It had a raw English flavour. You could imagine the culture at the time that this sad event happened in. I did not realize the contorted path and the degradation certain key players would devolve to. Nor did I anticipate how interwoven this event would later become with key U.K. figures, organizations and government agencies. It's truly sad that predators exist among us waiting to manipulate and corrupt all that has been worked for - committing the ultimate crime in taking a life in order to advance their own desires and further take what is not rightfully theirs. Which is worse - characters as I just described or those desperate to conceal their own involvement that they will attempt to corrupt good and righteous men? Good listen. To know that given the right circumstances so much can remain in the dark...truly terrifying!

Got tedious...

I'm a podcast buff. I was hooked initially by Untold. Interesting case, told well. But then the episodes seemed stretched out; less writing, more rambling, tedious interviewswith the family rather than real investigation and liitle progress. After 7 or so episodes I gave up. Other podcasts can spin a true crime situation taughtly with great writing and story building. Not here. It looked to be coasting, having run out of gas/imagination.
