    Murder

Mike tells Sarah about the most common forms of violence in America and how they differ (twist!) from what gets shown on TV. Digressions include Perry Mason, “It’s A Wonderful Life” and fruit-toting strategies. Mike appears not to understand the meaning of the term “order of magnitude.” This episode contains descriptions of police violence; the last 15 minutes are just a huge bummer generally.

Really well done

Love this podcast so much. I really appreciate the erudite level of analysis and insight the hosts bring to topics previously thought to have been well-understood. They add a rich and fascinating dimension to each character they cover, breathing new life into tales from the 90s that would otherwise be fading slowly into the annals of history.

Sarah and Mike also have a lovely dynamic. I enjoy the contrast of their voices, both literary and literal. I actually disagree with the various criticisms other people have put forth here- if I were to modify anything, it would be to reduce the frequency with which the verbal crutch “like” can be heard. Otherwise, perfect podcast. Thank you for making it.

When telling people about this podcast it sounds like I’m asking them to join a cult

This is easily my favourite podcast of all time. I look forward to new eps and listen to them as soon as they come out. I learn new things and have feelings validated about things that never felt right. Thank you for a ray of light!! And for making me very mad. I love a 4 star review I saw that called Sarah Susan.

By far my favorite podcast. I could listen to Michael and Sarah for days. They are both smart, funny and down to earth, not to mention incredible writers. Please keep up the good work!
