Focus on Yourself: Do THIS Before 2026 Ends to Get Back on Track with Eric Thomas

If you’ve been feeling like this year got away from you, this episode will help you get back on track. In this powerful and practical conversation, Mel sits down with world-renowned pastor, and motivational speaker, and New York Times Bestselling author Dr. Eric Thomas to talk about how to get yourself back on track when life has knocked you off course. Dr. Thomas knows what it feels like to have your circumstances work against you. He went from being homeless and dropping out of high school to earning his Ph.D. in education from Michigan State University and becoming one of the most influential motivational speakers in the world known as ET The Hip Hop Preacher. But this conversation is not about pushing harder, grinding more, or trying to completely reinvent your life overnight. In this episode, Dr. Thomas shows you how to stop focusing on everything that is going wrong, identify what is still within your control, and start building momentum again one day at a time. He also shares his 52 day challenge that he created after watching himself and people around him lose hope during a difficult year, and will inspire you to take on this challenge as well. You’ll learn: -The story that inspired his 52-day challenge and why it completely changed the way he thinks about transformation -How to figure out the one area of your life that needs your attention right now -How to take the skills you already use successfully in one area of your life and apply them somewhere you feel stuck -How to choose a daily action that is realistic enough to actually stick with-How to recognize the excuses you keep making without beating yourself up-Why you do not need to change your whole life in order to change the direction of it-How to keep going when you are doing the work but still cannot see the result-The question to ask yourself when you feel like giving up-How to stop obsessing over how far you have to go and focus on what you can do today-Why getting back to your best self may be more powerful than trying to become a completely different person You do not have to solve your whole life before this year ends. You do not have to wait for your circumstances to change before you start feeling better. You just need to stop giving all of your attention to what you cannot control and start putting it toward what you can. If this year has worn you down, this conversation will help you focus on yourself, make one decision that moves you forward, and use the next 52 days to get your hope, clarity, and momentum back.

Warum kommen so wenige Linke? How Did Your Parents Mess You Up? My Daughter Got Brutally Honest About What I Got Wrong

What if you could sit down with your parents and finally tell them what they got wrong? Or ask your kids what they wish you'd done differently? Today, Mel and her daughter Sawyer are having the kind of honest conversation most families never have. And Sawyer isn't holding back. She asks Mel lots of questions, including: -What do you think you got wrong as my mom? -What do you wish you did differently? -What did raising three kids teach you? Mel talks about her biggest regrets, the mistakes she's still making, and the ways her own childhood shaped the mother she became. But what makes this conversation so special is that Sawyer shares her side, too. You'll hear why Sawyer sometimes turns to her dad instead of Mel, what she wishes her mom understood about her, and how even the most loving families can fall into patterns that leave everyone feeling frustrated or misunderstood. As Mel and Sawyer talk, you'll hear things you can do to make your relationships better, too. In this episode, you'll learn: - What Mel wishes she'd done differently raising her three kids - Why Mel regrets trying to help her kids and what you can do to avoid this mistake - What adult children wish their parents understood - How your childhood shapes the way you communicate, show love, and handle conflict - Why mothers and daughters can have such complicated relationships - One simple question that can change how you communicate with the people you love - How to stop repeating the same arguments and frustrations in your family - A practical way to stay calm when someone pushes your buttons - Why you don't always need to agree to understand each other - How to build a closer, more loving relationship with your family, no matter how old you are Whether you're a mom looking back on raising your kids, an adult who wishes your parents understood you better, or someone who wants less tension and more connection with your family, this conversation will give you a new perspective. You can't change everything that happened in your family, but you can change how you understand each other and what happens next.

Manipulation, Solved

You’ve probably lied to someone today. You also probably think you lie less than everyone else. Welp, I have some bad news. We all manipulate, we all get played, and sometimes, the smarter you are, the easier you are to con. In this episode, Drew and I get into what manipulation is, why everyone does it, and how to keep from getting fooled. We tell the story of how Freud’s nephew turned bacon into a doctor-approved breakfast, and how the TSA spent nearly $1 billion training officers to spot liars, with nothing to show for it. We walk through the one test that shows when persuasion crosses into manipulation, and the tactics advertisers, propagandists, and con artists have been running on you for a century. Then we cover why skeptics make some of the easiest marks and the only defense with serious evidence behind it. We also spend a good chunk of time on the manipulator you know best (or least)... yourself. You can’t fully escape influence, and you might not want to. But once you know the playbook, you’ll spot it, even when it’s coming from inside the house.
