Grounded Jets: Slump or Serious Problem in Winnipeg?

Welcome to Daily Faceoff Live with Tyler Yaremchuk and Carter Hutton! We start the show in Winnipeg as the Jets drop their sixth straight and sit seventh in the Central Division. They were 3-8-1 without Connor Hellebuyck and despite his return steadying the goals against they are still just 1-3-3 since he’s been back. Last season at this point the Jets had 53 points, have they run out of fuel in Winnipeg? The Carolina Hurricanes are down to two goalies as Pyotr Kochetkov is done for the season with a knee injury, is this a big deal or no deal for the Canes Cup chances? Andrew Mangiapane, Sean Monahan, and Jake Debrusk headline some expensive healthy scratches. Are there serious concerns with any of these players and could we see some on the move? There are lots of questions surrounding the Canadian Olympic team, the guys each breakdown 3 big things to watch with the upcoming roster announcement tomorrow. Steven Ellis from Daily Faceoff joins the show for the Next Wave on the ground in Minnesota. We’ll talk all things World Juniors from current breakout stars, Team Canada’s undefeated start, who’s looking like the top dog, and a sweet overtime goal. The Smokin’ Hot Sabres Win Again!

Welcome to Daily Faceoff Live with Tyler Yaremchuk and Carter Hutton! We start the show with a holiday edition of Man of the Weekend, as the guys give their picks for Man of the Holidays. Tyler chose the overtime hero for the Minnesota Wild, while Carter went with the player who scored his first career hat trick in Pittsburgh. The Buffalo Sabres can’t stop winning! Over the holidays, the Sabres picked up two more victories to extend their winning streak to eight games. They now sit fifth in the Atlantic Division and just miss out on the second wildcard spot due to the tiebreaker being owned by Florida. Can the Sabres finally break their playoff drought? The World Juniors dropped the puck on their 50th edition on Friday. There have already been some exciting games, including a few scares for perennial powerhouses. Latvia once again proved to be a thorn in Canada’s side, taking them to overtime before falling 2–1 on a Michael Hage winner. Germany and Switzerland both stuck around against the host Americans, who could be without defender Cole Hutson after he took a puck to the head in their 2–1 victory over Switzerland on Saturday. Sweden remains undefeated after surviving a tight opening-game test from Slovakia. Finland looks like the top dog so far after dominant wins over Denmark and Latvia, but can the Finns keep the scoring going against the likes of Czechia and Canada? David Pagnotta from The Fourth Period joins the show for The Insider Notebook. We’ll discuss which team has boosted its stock the most in 2025, which GM we should be watching to make moves in 2026, and get an update on contract talks between the Philadelphia Flyers and Christian Dvorak. Crosby Becomes Penguins All Time Points Leader & the Sabres Stay Red Hot

Welcome to Daily Faceoff Live with Tyler Yaremchuk and Colby Cohen! We start the show with another Monday edition of Man of the Weekend. It was a milestone evening last night in Pittsburgh as Sidney Crosby got two points against the Montréal Canadiens to surpass Penguins legend Mario Lemieux as the franchise’s leading scorer. Edmonton Oilers’ captain Connor McDavid is on an insane heater right now with 26 points through 11 games this month with 12 goals and three 4-point games. Next, we look at the streaking Sabres and the falling Leafs in this edition of Hot & Cold. The Buffalo Sabres find themselves on a six-game win streak sitting just 3 points out of a playoff spot. It’s trouble in Leaf Land though as the Toronto Maple Leafs have dropped three straight and sit six points out of a playoff spot and second last in the Eastern Conference. Is it a change in script for the border rivals this season? The trade market is heating up and there were some prominent names on the move this weekend with two trades going down. Phillip Danault returns to Montréal as the Canadiens acquire the veteran center to shore up their center depth sending a second-round pick to Los Angeles. Mason Marchment was also on the move, as the forward was rumoured to many teams, including a reunion in Dallas, before being sent to Columbus, with a second and fourth round pick heading to Seattle. Brock Seguin from the Daily Faceoff Fantasy joins the show for his segment A Guy, A Stat & A Trend where he breaks down the upcoming week in the fantasy hockey realm. TJ Oshie on the Capitals Season & Team USA Memories

Welcome to Daily Faceoff Live with Tyler Yaremchuk and Carter Hutton! We start the show with some defenders who are dominating the league this season. Jakob Chychrun is showing off his stellar two-way play in Washington and Zach Werenski may be the most underrated defender in the NHL out in Columbus. Has Chychrun's play put him in the driver's seat to make Team Canada? Can Werenski's strong play carry over to the International stage for the Olympics with Team USA? After being acquired by the Edmonton Oilers, the biggest concern surrounding Tristan Jarry was his inability to stay healthy for 82 games. The Oilers' netminder left last night's game with a lower-body injury. Is concern renewed for the Oilers crease troubles and can Connor McDavid's recent hot streak carry the Oilers despite questions in goal? With the holiday roster freeze fast approaching rumours continue to swirl around some teams and players. Will the Kraken move Mason Marchment to a contender? Could Alex Lyon's days in Buffalo be numbered? Next, Stanley Cup champion TJ Oshie joins the show to talk about his career, the Olympics, the World Juniors, and the Washington Capitals.
