Sharp, honest and informative

This podcast widens the perspective and provides information in a quality that is distinguishably different from other shallow entertainment oriented "media providers".
Exceptionally refreshing.

Highly informative and interesting 30 mins

One of the best podcasts out there. This is measured, informative, interesting. British journalism at its best and would alone justify a subscription to the Guardian, except that it's not even behind a paywall. Keeps you informed of some of the stories happening behind the scenes that you should be keeping an eye on. An essential daily listen.

Very well made and insightful, differs from a standard daily news podcast

I enjoy the majority of episodes, some were very revealing- the young left wing leave voters stands out in particular. Similar daily podcasts such as The Daily and Today Explained keep a close focus on the issue of the day - they are normally predictable. Today in Focus sometimes picks out issues such as the legal battle around a murder which are outside of the principle news flow. This is contrary to how daily news podcasts have so far developed, I think there is justification for this different approach but I’m still undecided about how successful it is - the pieces which stand out for their choice are normally not topics that will get much attention from other media in the future, rather they are those that would normally appear in the Guardian. So it feels like a daily guardian podcast rather than a daily news podcast. Having said that I think the other dailies revolve far too much around Trump’s antics so perhaps I should embrace eclectic subjects as revealing the hidden stories - this renewing to be decided
