First reaction to the quote "everything happens for a reason." Character development nobody asked for Can bad experiences become useful? Grief, betrayal & when the quote stops being comforting Can something hurt and still mean something? Happiness is a cumulation after enough "meanings" have added up. Hindsight is so annoying. The rejection/loss lores can actually change our lives. It's scary not being able to see what an incident might bring us.     004 With Haley Z. | The Show Behind The Show

    Welcome to the fourth episode of Number X! This is a safe and free place to unleash your voice. My name is Emma, your host for today. -Guest- Haley Zhong (she/they), Grade 11 high school student, has been the stage manager for Theatre Production since Grade 8, loves penguins. -Contents- What does it mean to be a stage manager? What do people barely notice what stage manager do? The better the Production do their job, the less people notice them doing it. The need to be on good terms with everyone. "Drama is not drama without its own drama." Does backstage work necessarily twist the way people define success? Production V.S. Company: For the show to be over. Theatre Production (backstage) and Theatre Company (onstage) are NOT the same concept at all. Authority and trust is more taught than built, at least at the very beginning. The habit of expecting the worse to happen. Despite the fact that dangers become less heavy once they've passed, there is NO funny backstage disaster in Theatre. Spending time alone tends to ease stress. There will always be situations where personal well-being needs to be sacrificed for the sake of the show. The way compliments become expectations, and therefore, pressure. The responsibility to be confident all the time. The approaching feeling of stepping into the final year of high school.     It's been such a long time and welcome back to the third episode of Number X! This is a safe and free place to tell your stories. My name is Emma, your host for today. -Guest- Emma Lai (she/they), Grade 11 high school student, known as "Emma Squared" with Emma Y. in their English class. -Contents- 1. The need to fit in. 2. To pretend or not to pretend? 3. How and why do we want to fit in? 4. Isolation is heartbreaking, but new people do come. 5. You can act, but never really be who you act for them to see. 6. The meaning of "individuality." 7. Being called "different." 8. What if being unique turns into being performative? 9. Do you feel okay being lonely? 10. Pressure to be "original" vs. pressure to "fit in." 11. Screw balance for now. Is it possible to have both at the same time? 12. The kind of space or person makes you feel both safe and free. 13. In bigger settings (e.g., at school), is it harder to be yourself or to fit in? 14. If you're struggling already, being a teenager makes everything even more confusing. 15.     Here we've got the second episode of Number X! This is a safe and free place to tell your stories. My name is Emma, your host for today. -Guest- Elizabeth Meng, 15 years old, 169 cm tall (could've been taller if not some specific foods), high schooler in the U.K., cat enthusiast (demonstrated as owning 3 cats while being allergic to them), tennis player, fluter, guitarist, mountain biker, school hater, Taylor Swift fan, used to be obsessed with Emma Yuan (not anymore). -Contents- 1. People may go from silently admiring each other to having full-on conversations about everything. 2. Hindsights are the most powerful. 3. Being yourself is scary, but also freeing. 4. When you like someone, do you focus on liking them or on whether they like you back? 5. All are part of the story, no matter how awkward. 6. Relationships are amazing, but are even better when coming from a place of confidence and self-assurance. 7. We can't rely on someone else to make us happy. 8. How important can a healthy support system be? 9. Does the idea of "coming out" still exist in the same way it used to? 10. Elisa, surprisingly, does not have a gaydar. 11. Emma, surprisingly, was once mistaken as lesbian. 12. Our job is to keep up with the kind of confidence that makes everyone else question their assumptions. 13. What would you give your crush/date for Christmas (if you have one)? 14. It's all about finding someone who makes you feel seen, valued, and loved—no matter who they are. 15.     Hi, welcome to the first episode of Number X. This is a safe and free place to let the world know about yourself. My name is Emma, and I am your host today.  -Guest-  Claire Vu (she/her), high schooler in Burnaby, Canada, international student from Vietnam, student government Grade 10 Representative.  -Contents- 1. People adjust to new environments as much as they change people.  2. Relationships heal.  3. First crushes are as early as in kindergarten, and some of them shape our ideas of later relationships.  4. Secret crushes are exciting, and are frustrating just the same.  5. Emma could have confessed to that girl who indirectly rejected her in the coffee shop but confessed to her later.  6. It is fortunate enough to still be friends even after huge emotional outbursts.  7. Rejections hurt, but fate explains, and time will work things out.  8. Breakups are part of life, situationship is the way of life, and things happen in your life to help you grow, 9. Jealousy never creeps up out of nowhere.  10.
