Ukraine kæmper to krige

Hun fik 30.000 kroner i Højesteret. Hvem havde interesse i, at sagen fortsatte? Og hvem passede på pengene?Support the show Kontakt

The Daily Blast: Trump Rages as New Press Sec’s Debut Humiliatingly Mocked Even by MAGA

In a remarkable piece, The Atlantic reports that Donald Trump is privately furious over his inability to force Iran to stop the war. As one adviser notes, he is “used to snapping his fingers” to control Republicans and the media, so he is now “losing his mind that Iran won’t listen” to him. This comes as his new press secretary, Katie Zacharia, turned in a debut performance that’s drawing serious fire from the right. White House officials are sharply criticizing it as “brutal.” One right-wing media personality harshly mocked her as not “serious,” claiming that “she’s auditioning for a job on Fox News.” These stories are connected: They both reveal Trump as an emperor-has-no-clothes figure who can’t fathom why his control over events is deserting him. We talked to Mark Jacob, who skillfully dissects White House follies in his Stop the Presses newsletter. He explains why having someone like Zacharia as White House press secretary is a deadly serious matter for the country, how institutional cowardice persuaded Trump of his omnipotence, how that’s now cracking up under him, and why all this will make him even more dangerous.

Will SCOTUS Let Big Oil Off the Hook?

The first week of the new term has come and gone, and things are heating up… literally. Kirti Datla, director of Earthjustice’s Strategic Legal Advocacy Program, joins Melissa and Leah to discuss the term’s biggest climate case: Suncor v. Commissioners of Boulder County. They break down whether Boulder County’s lawsuit against oil and gas companies can move forward, or if the Court will shut it down based on federal law. Then, they dive into Samuel Alito’s big, bad book press tour and his reflections on Dobbs—including the friendships he says he lost along the way. Plus they cover Kash Patel’s engagement, Kimberly Guilfoyle’s corruption controversies, and Pete Hegseth’s announcement of a public execution. Finally, Melissa talks with Professor Bernadette Atuahene about her new book: Plundered: How Racist Policies Undermine Black Homeownership in America. Will Russia and America Break Europe Apart?

Hassan draws on his expertise in pandemic preparedness and prevention to assess the headlines about the plague in Russia. Mike, back from Parliamentary recess, considers the latest phase of Russia’s war on Ukraine and how Europe is being squeezed between the pincers of Putin and Trump. They discuss why we should not expect Russia to be open about what really happened, but why there is no need to panic just yet. They also examine the impact of Trump’s new deal to buy diesel from Russia, the tenacious differences between political cultures and why deeper European integration appears unlikely. 00:00 Intro 01:47 Pandemic Risk: Ebola 04:49 Plague Outbreak in Siberia 10:29 The Challenges of Data Sharing 13:58 Russia’s Political Culture of Secrecy 20:48 Is War in Europe Escalating? 24:42 Putin’s Tactics Explained 29:58 Will Europe Rally Together? 34:02 Building A European Political Culture 37:54 Europe’s Security Integration 42:23 How Nations Are Made 45:25 Who Can Lead Europe?
