Studying & Interpreting Scripture: Going Beyond Just Reading

Reading the Bible is good… but studying it is where transformation happens. In this episode, we’re diving into the importance of not just reading Scripture, but truly studying and understanding it. Because it’s one thing to see the words on the page—and another to grasp what God is actually saying. Too many believers rely on surface-level reading, which can lead to confusion, misinterpretation, or even applying Scripture incorrectly. But when you learn how to study the Word, it begins to come alive in a whole new way. In this episode, I walk you through: - Why studying Scripture is essential for spiritual growth - How to use simple tools and resources to better understand the Bible - The SOAP Method (Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer) - My personal PRAY Method to help you engage with the Word more intentionally This is a practical, hands-on episode that will equip you to move from passive reading to active, Spirit-led study. 2 Timothy 2:15 (NIV) “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” Enjoyed This Episode or Have Feedback? 2. The King and His Covenant

    The King and His Covenant

In this episode, we begin exploring one of the most important themes throughout the Bible: *the Kingdom of God and the covenant relationship between the King and His people.* When Jesus came preaching, His message was not simply about religion or even just salvation - it was about *the Kingdom*. A kingdom requires a king, and throughout Scripture we see that God is the ultimate King, and Jesus is the promised King who rules over God’s Kingdom. But how do people belong to that Kingdom? The answer is *covenant*. In the Bible, a covenant is more than an agreement or contract - it is a sacred, binding relationship established through promises and commitment. From the covenants with Noah, Abraham, and David to the New Covenant established through Jesus, God consistently reveals that His Kingdom operates through covenant relationship with His people. When we understand both *the King and His covenant*, we begin to see the Bible not as disconnected stories but as one unfolding plan - God restoring His Kingdom and inviting His people into relationship with Him. Join us as we begin unpacking what it truly means to live under the rule of the King and walk in the promises of His covenant. Enjoyed This Episode or Have Feedback? Send Us A Text!
