Emergency Reaction: Conor McGregor Is OUT Of UFC 303, Alex Pereira Saves The Day, Defends Light Heavyweight Title In Rematch With Jiri Prochazka

In this breaking news podcast, MMA Fighting's Jed Meshew, Damon Martin, and Eric Jackman react to the breaking news that Conor McGregor is OUT of his UFC 303 fight against Michael Chandler.
Rumors have circulated for weeks that the UFC 303 main event was in jeopardy and on Thursday evening, UFC CEO Dana White finally confirmed that the fight between McGregor and Chandler is off due to injury. Instead, UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira steps in on short notice, putting his title on the line in a rematch with former champion Jiri Prochazka. On top of that, Brian Ortega now faces Diego Lopes in the co-main event, and Carlos Ulberg now faces Anthony Smith, who steps in for an injured Jamahal Hill. All that plus the UFC Saudi Arabia card has a new main event as well.
The MMA Fighting team reacts to a tumultuous day for the UFC.

HOAM | Where Does Jared Cannonier Go After Stoppage Loss At UFC Louisville?

HOAM | Where Does Jared Cannonier Go After Stoppage Loss At UFC Louisville?

It's a very slow week in the world of MMA and the UFC following UFC Louisville, and heading into UFC Vegas 93 this Saturday. Following the controversial conclusion of the main event between Nassourdine Imavov and Jared Cannonier this past Saturday, where does Cannonier go from here?
On an all-new edition of Heck of a Morning, MMA Fighting's Mike Heck discusses the fallout of UFC Louisville, and who Cannonier will likely have to face next after the loss to Imavov. Additionally, listener questions include the ceiling for Dominick Reyes after his knockout of Dustin Jacoby in the co-main event of UFC Louisville, if Conor McGregor could get a title shot with a win over Michael Chandler at UFC 303, being OK to ask for the UFC to provide better overall cards across the board, and much more.
You can listen live to Heck of a Morning Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. ET on the MMA Fighting Twitter Spaces.

Fighter vs. Writer: Alan Jouban Reacts to Bad UFC Louisville Stoppage, Hopes WWE Event Changes How UFC Uses APEX

Fighter vs. Writer: Alan Jouban Reacts to Bad UFC Louisville Stoppage, Hopes WWE Event Changes How UFC Uses APEX

The Fighter vs. The Writer returns with UFC analyst Alan Jouban and MMA Fighting senior reporter Damon Martin discussing the latest in combat sports including the stoppage in the main event at UFC Louisville where Nassourdine Imavov defeated Jared Cannonier but not without some controversy.
We’ll discuss the stoppage and if referee Jason Herzog blew it by ending the fight before Cannonier was truly done and what that does for Imavov going forward.
We’ll also talk about the WWE event that took place at the UFC APEX on Sunday night with a packed house filled with fans, which is a much different look than the typical UFC cards in the same venue. Jouban explains why that event might force the UFC’s hand to make some changes moving forward with future APEX cards.
We also talk about the latest with Conor McGregor after the UFC 303 press conference was cancelled at the last minute, which led to speculation that perhaps he wasn’t going to fight Michael Chandler after all.
Now that it appears the fight is still happening was this all part of McGregor’s plan or could something else be happening behind the scenes?
All this and more on the latest episode of The Fighter vs. The Writer!

On To the Next One | What's Next For Dominick Reyes After First Win In 1,695 Days At UFC Louisville

While Nassourdine Imavov closed the show with a massive win in the main event of UFC Louisville, the feel-good story of Saturday's card was two-time light heavyweight title challenger Dominick Reyes picking up his first victory since October 2019 in the co-main event. Where do both Imavov and Reyes go from their big wins at the KFC Yum! Center?
On an all-new edition of On To the Next One, MMA Fighting's Mike Heck and guest host Jed Meshew discuss what could be next for Imavov and Reyes following their stoppage victories. Additionally, future matchups are discussed for Raul Rosas Jr. following his second-round submission win over Ricky Turcios, Brunno Ferreira after his Knockout of the Year contender against Dustin Stoltzfus, along with fellow main card winners Zachary Reese, Punahele Soriano, and more.
