    Setting Up a Podcast Company | Ami Bennett and Dan Moss, Colour It In Studios

    In this masterclass, Colour It In Studios directors Ami Bennett and Dan Moss explore the decisions and processes that went into setting up their audio business in early 2022, after years of work and friendship together. They discuss the pros and cons of starting a production company, what can learned and unlearned from experiences across the industry, and the fiddly details they reckon everyone should know before getting into business. Ultimately, they’ll give you a set of tools to help decide whether the time and circumstances are right for you to set up your own production company. Colour It In Studios work with brands and broadcasters as specialists in podcasts, radio and branded audio and visual content. Some of their production credits in the past year have included work on 'This City with Clara Amfo', Aesop’s 'Radiomatique Mixtapes' and BBC Radio 4’s 'Why Do We Do That'. Ami Bennett has established herself as one of the UK‘s leading independent podcast producers and audio and digital programme makers, recently winning two ARIAS Awards for her production work for 'DECODE'. She has worked with everyone from Spotify to Trippin to producing the nation‘s biggest reality TV show podcast for 'Love Island'. Previously, Ami cut her teeth spending seven years working across BBC radio and digital projects. Dan Moss has developed and delivered branded audio client campaigns for the likes of Paul Smith, Beavertown, WeTransfer and Asahi Super Dry. Before taking up the job of Managing Director at Gilles Peterson‘s WORLDWIDE online platform, Dan was an executive producer overseeing specialist BBC Radio content, managing a large interdisciplinary team and working across audio and film on some of the UK‘s biggest specialist programmes.

Berry is also the Social Media Manager of Loud Speakers Network, and a preeminent lecturer and expert on diversity in podcasting. Berry has been a featured speaker, judge, and panelist at the Sound Education Conference held at Harvard University, Spotify’s Sound Up Bootcamp, on a variety of leading industry podcasts such as Earwolf’s the Den. Berry is a lover of podcasts first and credits The Read as the reason she joined the industry, to help other people also find their own favorite podcast.
